Bingo. So many dudes have that "she looked at me, she must want me" mindset. Some cats think a girl likes them just because she gave them extra mayo on their sandwich. I know girls who have had crushes on dudes and STILL turned them down once they got asked for their number and it wasn't a matter of having game. Some chicks just aren't looking for that, regardless of how attractive they find you. They simply just do not think/act as men do, they don't have that need to be involved with every single person they find attractive.
When approaching a female, it's never a sure thing. Even if she's giving you all the hints in the world it seems, there will always be that possibility of rejection, you just have to learn to live with it.

Good thread OP. This happens to every guy at least once. I hate this so much. I once had a chick stare at me, I looked away and ignored her. I still saw her staring at me, and she was across the table. She did this for literally half the day. During our break, I was like "I'm in there", I asked her out and she hit me with the "I have a bf". Maaaan, I was like
