Lately far too many people have been posting city/region specific topics here in the General forum.

We have the regional forums for a reason. NikeTalk caters to tens of thousands of users from around the world and the General forum exists to serve all of us.

If you want to find the best dry cleaner in Peoria, Illinois, you need to use the Midwest regional forum. Need an answer fast? That's no excuse. Post inthe correct forum or find an answer elsewhere.
NikeTalk isn't a full-service search engine alternative. Our 70,000+ members aren't part of a personal concierge service.

If you want to create a thread complaining about rain in SoCal, post in the SoCal forum - that's what it's there for. The rest of us don't care, and there's no point in allowing those threads to clutter a forum that serves a global audience when we already have regional threads for precisely thispurpose. It's like starting a thread about Supras in the General forum because Other Brands isn't busy enough. That's not our problem.

For those griping that there aren't enough users in the regional forums:

1) That's partly because people are still trying to get away with using the General forum for that purpose. The sooner you get into the habit of checkingyour local regional forum the better.
2) You have no one to blame but yourselves. The DC/MD/VA forum and Philippines forums are quite successful. I visit the DMV forum on a regular basis andthere's almost always something new. You can find information about local events, release/availability information, and just converse with fellow NT usersfrom your area. (We've been commiserating over the Wizards' miserable off-season, for example.) The DMV and Philippines regional forums are amongNikeTalk's most popular forums now. Your regional can be active and interesting, too. Like all of our forums, they are what you make of them.

If your regional's currently a ghost town, we can help. Get things moving, we can identify some local leadership, and if a staff member from your regionisn't available to help regulate the forum we can appoint a "mayor" from among the forum regulars to moderate it.

What we won't do, however, is to allow any more regional posts in General. We're not moving them, either - we're just going to lock them and giveyou a warning. If you've already been warned or it's clear that you've intentionally posted in General just to get more replies, we're goingto ban or suspend you.
