This Wall Street journal article made me think of its thread. There is no reason for any American to be a Russia right now, not only is there a war going on but Putin is collecting Americans (often times on completely trumped up charges) to use as trade ships for prisoner swaps.

I'm glad that she's home and safe but I wasn't exactly crying for her for putting herself in such a indefenseful situation (willingly traveling to a country led by a dictator and trying to bring in drugs to a country with some of the toughest drug laws in the world)
