FCC Dismantling Net Neutrality Rules vol. **** AJIT PAI

on another note something to ponder...would you say amazon is already guilty of this?

i’m a huge fan of amazon prime and don’t mind spending the 100 something a year for prime access but wouldn’t this almost be the same thing?
No even remotely chose to the same thing

Ill be straight with you, I barely understand this net neutrality thing.

we already pay for internet in our homes and for data on our phones.

why would we have to pay for more?

As it stands now, from my understanding, we pay a flat fee for practically unlimited internet access. Big internet companies now have the liberty of switching to tiered models of internet acces. So whereas you were once able to access NT at anytime, this repeal leaves it so that your internet provider can block NT unless you pay for a certain tier/package.

This **** sucks.

Another way to think about it is that this isn't just applied to ONE service, this is applied to the WHOLE internet. In today's world where processes are now becoming only viable through the internet you run the risk of blocking out a lot of people who already have poor connectivity. This can lead to huge negative impacts on upward mobility for these folks.

Not to mention that the internet is THE hub of info...what happens when certain chunks of it are slowed down/inaccessible?

If I have to pay, to acces ESPN app and basically every other app on my iPhone X, then I’m going back to using a Motorola RAZR. No point in having a smart phone if they are going to nickel and dime you just for checking sports scores.

It's just another case of the rich get richer. Happening in virtually every sector of our lives.

Loading up on porn as we speak. LMAO @ you dudes with only 1TB of storage and having to use your imagination while I build my catalog for future fappings

I knew downloading my favorite scenes was gonna come in handy one day :pimp:

"Free wi-fi" at restaurants and hotels is gonna be like those Enhanced CD's from the 90's.

The only thing you gonna be able to do with free Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks wi-fi is read about the history of coffee brewing

This is really bad man. Thinking of how I use the internet on a daily basis I'm legit shook.

NT
Illegally downloading music
Selling merch on Amazon
Pron
Keeping up with friends and relatives

All about to change. This can't be happening yo.

So basically turning the internet into cable television?

If so, it makes sense that congress would think this is a good idea. Older people always try to relate computers and the internet to television.

Yeah but if this takes place in US, what’s not to say Canada doesn’t follow suit?
I'd have to do a search on the exact details but no, Canada is actually exploring options to safeguard Net Neutrality through NAFTA.
