when did i say i never liked him, i don't know him (aka you) ...personally. i said i hate his sneaker designs for the most part... i forgot we live in a world where in order to enjoy one thing someone does you have to enjoy all of them. love jordans, hate the way jordan dresses, love cool grey jordan 11's ... hate most of the things gentry had a hand in designing, REGARDLESS of how much money it brought the company, even tho i'm a shareholder. since you don't seem to understand, let me help you. i despise some of the unethical practices that amazon uses when it comes to their employees, i consider them abhorrent & as much as i can't stand jeff bezos... guess what i own ...amazon prime, because it's convenient as hell ...

Yea, I heard of him being wit Nike pretty early but actually working on Jordans I think it's a Sole Collector interview where he says himself that his first Jordan project was the 11s in 95.

I could be wrong though.

I agree that the problems with the brand go much deeper than Gentry. Hell, we’re not even getting a true Chicago 1 retro and instead just the L&F 1s because they know they can squeeze more money out of us for one later down the line, even if we hit on L&Fs.

Like I’m sure we will all be dead before they fix the tooling on the Air Jordan 9s or even put the proper swoosh on the Air Jordan 1 highs. They don’t give a s**t, quite frankly.

Man gentry is a strait up scapegoat to most people on this site. Do you guys really think anything is going to change because he left?

Most of the hate comes from his interviews and his decisions to cater to “OG collectors.” Most of us are into these shoes for nostalgic purposes. We want OGs retro’d as they once were and to be able to wear the sneakers we fell in love with again. His philosophy of making changes to OGs for collectors rubs those of us that want 3s and 4s as they were the wrong way. Once he made those statements he was an immediate enemy to those of us that are nostalgic. From there we blame him for the misgivings of his tenure.

In a nutshell this sums up exactly how I felt. Dead on.

You have a problem with oversaturation... The irony in that is that Gentry is literally on record saying that's exactly why he alters OG releases a bit. You agree with his stance of tarnishing the legacy of the ogs yet you still hate him? Makes no sense. The biggest thing I'm getting from the posts of dudes who don't like Gentry is that y'all are upset that he doesn't release og colorways back to back. That's a very elitist stance to take but I digress. Us real sneaker heads will miss you Gentry. Thanks for everything. You, MJ, and Tinker are the holy Trinity of Jordan Brand.

Some people didn’t wait long enough to make a judgement. I knew getting rid of the cancer would take some time for the body to heal.
