Hinge Takeover >>> Tinder, Bumble Pof

One thing they do in OKC, they attempted this on me 3x and even me being from the surburbiest of suburbs I knew better. And they only did this 2 different times when I was visiting and once when I was new, so they have to smell foreign on you to try it, but they be liek, "Ay bruh, I got them dvds [(one time a dude said Polo shirts because I was coming out the club in a polo button up shirts)], come check me out," while standing by their trunk. I dont know if I get close to them and they brandish and then bystanders can't see or I've heard maybe they have weapons in the trunk and are obviosly like run your pockets or whatever. Not getting me though. I was still standing in the door of 7/11 and yelled "which ones." dude said "All of'em." I was like  I'm good fam. Not me not today
That's an old one, I remember back in like 99/2000 a chick coming up to me and my girl in the grocery store trying to sell cologne. She was like yeah I have them outside in my van. :smh:
Then unmatched me. WTF?!
Damn might have saved that conversation until after I hit. You setting up the threesome and she is awful in the bed.

When random people approach me telling me they have cologne or cds or hats for sale outside i just tell them i dont speak english and i come canada it have 2 veeks.

What were you matching with on the westside.?
Trust fund baddies...?
I was working on a development in SaMo. I swear all them white girls are in yoga wear all damn day....

I used to post my escapades constantly in TAY - but yeah, girls in tech or “trying to find their way”. Don’t forget the added luxury of UCLA chicks and Brentwood divorcees - nowhere better to live!

Why though? Branding? To show that you’re normal?

I’m on social media but I only have a few pics and never really post except a story here and there. It was never a problem for me.
It's kind of associated with status. I don't post anything crazy but I tend to make it known I'm still here. Not seeking validation but just day to day stuff.

I don't have a huge following on any platform. I kind of self destruted years back and deleted all my platforms. Came back slowly to FB first. Always had a Snapchat but would post infrequently. Just got comfortable enough to start posting on IG like a month ago. Have Twitter but mainly for sneaker drops. The rest I could care less about (Tumblr was cool like 2011/2012).

I’m with you bro. It doesn’t matter nearly as much as people think it does. I can’t front, at first yambs, or anyone really, may be skeptical but if you’re actually normal then it’s quickly forgotten and a non-issue.

It can be a tool in getting yambs or networking but by no means is it a necessity IMO.

I think I'm out though. Going to have to show great discipline on this but it's for the best.

For those who know, know.

Best of luck to all.

Generally when I hear someone under a certain age say they don't have social media I assume they are lying/rarely post or had it and deleted it for whatever reason. Similar to when women cut off all their hair. "Not using social" media is a trendy thing like when people say they don't watch tv.

Even when some celebrities say they don't have IG/Twitter etc it generally means they don't have a public account. A lot of people just lurk famous or not.

A lot people those same people don't view message boards/forums, discord etc as a form of social media. Linkedin is a social network.

They like us to have it but not use it
It's ridiculous but hey so's a lot of other stuff
I’m thinking the same here. I get so many funny facial expressions when I tell them I have no social media accounts except for eBay, car forum and sneaker collecting forum. Half feel like I’m curving them and the other half are surprised but not offended.

All good homie! Come back when you’re ready and let’s try out that one line that seems to work, haha. See you in the TAN section 😎

I don't understand how people follow 1,000+ people on their IG account.

Ish would be overwhelming. Everytime you open the app, you are bombarded with all those posts plus the ads that are littered on IG

And I think this sense of being overwhelmed manifests into the real world where people are generally shxxy and lack empathy for others

The more people you have, the better IG is imo. I’d hate to see the same content.

If you follow 1200 accounts on any platform you'll NEVER see 1000 of them post in a single day.

Maybe 30-40

Before social media people blamed music, video games and tv for the worlds problems.

If they had it and deleted it they still don't have it (for whatever reason, like you said) For Twitter/IG/FB I think there is a stark difference between lurking and posting, commenting, etc. For example, I am active on NT and my friends are active on the aforementioned platforms so naturally I come across a lot of tweets/IG posts about random stuff. That's not the same as posting original content and thoughts on them which is far deeper IMO.

Interesting that folks don't consider LinkedIn a social network when it's purpose is literally networking  But that's another platform I don't utilize or even lurk but I see the utility.

I understand he forums but is eBay widely considered as social media? Maybe I'm not using that right either but I never once thought about it that way although I am an active bidder

No, you’re correct. I just used ebay as an example of the things I use the internet for. I don’t really use it to socialize. I could’ve also used Netflix as an example.

Do any of y'all leave females on read if they don't respond back for a day or two, or even longer? I got a few right now, who just pop up out of the blue on some, "so what's your weekend plans" or "how are you?". I got this Good Morning America looking chick who just hit me with one a few hours ago :smh:

Nah that’s playing games. People have lives and also people forget as well , I’m guilty of forgetting. Unless they’re only sending 1 message a day or something, don’t sweat it.
