How to change your varsity red 6

^ thanks. Yeah, i noticed people used two different markers, but more people mentioned the garden crfat so I used them, I dont hate the blk/varsity red at all, i like em, but after I coverted they were TWICE as nice, now that I have the infrared pack, I'll rock the converted kicks until theyre ready to be replaced. thanks for the compliments on the pics becomelegendary/thunderchunk

yep. goodjob champ305. i dont get how people get so on point with this. lol the varsity cws are deff to rock and infras to be broken off 10 15 years from now. lol (or not, we'll see)

step 1. mask
step 2. paint
step 3. let dry
step 4. repeat steps 2 & 3 until desired shade is reached

I really don't think it's any more complicated than that. Except maybe to run the marker in the same direction all the time, ie. right to left, left to right, up/down, down/up until the entire area is covered. good luck and post pics when it's done.

i colored all in the same direction. make sure you let it dry before applying the next layer, i did 2 layers and thought it was perfect. also, personally i thought the color looked flat at first and wasnt too happy. for some reason, after the color was dry, i decided to rub my thumb on the paint for about 10 seconds and i swear the color looked so much better and became glossier like the real thing.

Exactly, I was thinking about doing it, Im just to scared that if I ruined them, I would trash my brand new shoes. But its only a different shade of red so i decided to pass. If I did change it, it would be like wearing fakes, lol

nice work guys, did you guys tape up your shoes or you did it free hand and if the marker got on the black parts of the shoe can you wipe it off?

I converted mines, using a Permapaque marker (my local Michael's doesnt have Garden Craft markers). they still came out great i think. they key is to use a red enamel marker. the brand doesnt matter. I colored the Jumpman on the tounges and on the bottom with matte finish to prevent chipping.

so if I bought the pack (two actually) but then I go out and bargain my local mom and pops down to 200 flat for both the varsity red vis and the bulls vis just so I can go and paint them so i can wear them ALOT and mash them out while my 2 packs sit at home still super DS and freshly sealed, does that make me lame for painting my jays or rocking fakes??

I have the black and varsity VIs and I like them how they are. So tried this marker on my beater Mars IVs and 00" White V's mid sole imo they came out very nice... I didnt bother removing stock paint on the IVs just painted over lol I finished a pair in like 10 mins (hence the sloppy ness) these markers dry up pretty fast,

Does any one has the label codes for the varsity reds and the codes for the infrareds? the label codes, I bought a pack and I don't want to be played by the seller, I want to make sure the codes match the infra pack and that I am not getting some painted varsity reds. Thanks!

How difficult was it to paint the tongues? I'm still on the fence about my white/red pair.

I think some people have painted the Varsity Red jumpman Infrared, so there might be a way.
