It's OFFICIAL: GM it BANKRUPT and off of DJI.

Lol at some of you in here failing to realize that this isn't a matter of GM's business decision, it's a matter of why the Government has a 60%stake in a private company.

You need to let these companies fail, that's capitalism, survival of the fittest, you fail to adapt, you lose.

As for the couple of you in here calling out the greenshoots, oh how delusional you are. The upper class know that the "economic recovery" is shamand that a collapse is inevitable, they're just messing with you now, don't fall for it.

It's the truth, rather you wan't to believe it or not. 6+ months of sitting in the hands of the government loans tells you that. The factGM cars are now priced cheaper, get better gas than comparable Japanese and Euro models and they STILL couldn't sell enough month after month can only tellyou one thing about the American people, THEY DON'T WANT U.S. CARS.

Of course all car manufactors are hurting right now but the Japanese and German are doing a HELL of a lot better compare to GM. I don't understand why GMand people like you think it's the union fault or not fuel efficient enough, it's really not that, the cars look and feel like crap, inside and out.Why would anybody buy a Chevy Malibu over a Honda Accord, Nissan Altima / Maxima, Toyota Camry or Mazda 6? Why? Who? You?!

They need to start over from scratch, fire there artist and research team, lure and hire the big wigs of the german and japanese automotive groups and startmaking GOOD looking cars that people care about, WANT to drive and be HAPPY to call there own. I would not be caught dead (or alive) in Colbat,

... thatcar looks like trash. Small trunk, huge circle shapped tail lights that do not resemble the front headlights, uninspired front fascia and a rear similar to thedead Dodge Neon. Who approves these things for the public? Buy it over a Civic? Mazda 3 or Mitsubishi Lancer GTHO

I mean, c'mon Impala? Yeah, it's an icon car but this aint the late 80s / early 90s, rap game has changed and the west coast aint the same, the Impalais trash now. HHR is trash, it's a rebadge Chrysler P.T. Cruiser why buy that over a Scion xB? I mean if your grandparents wanna look hip or actually lostone.

I can go on but GM current lineup (aside from the Vette) is pure trash compare to other car companies.

What don't you understand about free trade and capitalism? You see, here in America, the government is not here to take over and run business. Thats a GIANT step down the path we call socialism. Our government was set up to KEEP ITS HANDS OFF! Get out of the way, and let business do business, if they do bad business, then they go out of business. Period.

And WAAAAY too many of ya'll need a lesson on the UAW. Clueless...absolutely clueless.
right! I agree, but since they did bail them out, and they accepted the money (which they did not have to!) don't you think that'sreasonable. I've takin micro and macro econ and learned a bit about the way the economy works..i'm def not a expert at all (obviously) but it justmakes sense to me.

i love chevys ... i own a 04 monte carlo and think it is still one of the best looking cars on the road ... thats just personal preference though ... icompletely understand those people in the market for smaller compact cars choosing foreign over domestic ...

Gm is just a case of Overconfidence and spreading it self WAY TO WIDE. If it just focused on jus 3-4 brands like Toyata Does their wouldnt be much of a issue

Wait a little bit, if GM dealers start to close you will find steals on brand new cars. If you want a car now, I would say buy used because new cars lose value the minute you drive it out the lot. Then again if you are financing buying new might be better because you will most likely get a lower finance rating than you would buying a used car.
No you wont find steals. Car prices will never drop maybe 1 or 2 grand, thats about it.

I hate the american car companies, I hate the corps that were allowed to get to big to fail, I hate the direction our country has taken over the years. So manyto blame in these situations. Just makes me upset, I don't even want to get into it

Imports for the win

I have friends that supported the American car industry and purchased cars.

2 years and thousands of dollars in repairs later, they are upside down and are stuck with these crappy GM Vehicles and cant trade out of them due to the valuebeing lower than what is financed.

Supported Nissan-2 years and a few hundreds of dollars later (maintenence, oil changes, normal things) still happy and my truck is still valued MORE than whatI financed

IMPORTS FTW!!!

Not a bad idea to put money into ford right now, I think they will be the only American company to come out of this. They got some decent cars on the market orones that are coming out.
