I would return them.
These are collectors items that are going to be displayed and never worn and that's disturbing that the box is damaged that bad.

I received EA after several, several disappointments. I just hate that they sent me a damaged box. Sucks but what can I do?
I do generally wait a while before I break my fresh pair in. For instance, I'll wear my adapt 11s for the first time at some point coming up. It's just how I like to roll. I keep all my boxes in fine condition.

I’d try for a second pair and then if you do get a second one return, or oop someone for retail.

Leather is not as soft but better leather than the 2015 Chicago pair. The top and sides of the toe box on my 2015 pair creases looks weird imo.

Do they state what "verified" means? Probably verified that it's new. Creating these legal obscurities will have other impacts. Like do they require sellers to send only authentics or just unworn. It's going to get messy for them pretty fast. If they're not a trusted platform and don't stand by any guarantees or customer expectations, people will leave for alternatives regardless of what their legalease states.
