These are so bad, but if I can get them for the same price as I got my black tongue 5s (around $115 USD), I’d consider getting a pair as beaters, since the 12s are tanks. Seeing as how the French Blues dipped to that price in Canada, I can see the Taxis doing the same.

I agree, these are terrible at full retail but well worth it as deep disco beaters.
The thing is the taxi cw is far more popular than the French Blues.

Damn $120? I passed on both but for $120 each I would’ve copped for sure! I haven’t seen them go to those prices here in the US and I think if they did they would be gone very quick to the point people wouldn’t even know about those huge discounted prices.

Keep seeing them in stores and every display pair looks absolutely deflated and entirely off. It’s weird because … did they intentionally change something in the specs or whatever compared to all the other recent 12s? We know the mold or whatever you want to call it for all modern 12s has been off for years, but to me that just means they don’t look right compared to the OGs but aren’t horrendous on their own. Like, I am fully aware my white/reds ain’t what they could/should be, but I’m still mostly happy when I look at them on the closet shelf or on my feet. But these Taxis are just awful even in that context. Like, seriously, the hell happened here?

I was just showing these to my brother as well some other kicks. Deon’s and griffeys. He thought the Deons and griffeys were dope. When I pulled these out. The first thing he said was why do they look like low tops and they also looked off. He isn’t a big sneaker head like me. But he does know the nitpicking things we og collectors point out. Imma keep just to dog them out I guess smh.
