Outside of the auction block where they would judge not only looks, but hair and teeth, fitness, ability to breed would be judged as well. A number would be applied at times, both numerical ranking and price. During the 80’s, the movie 10 came out, with Bo Derek as the standard. She was also credited with bringing braids into popularity, becoming the Bo Derek look. People then normalized a racist discussion on who came closest to the supposed standard that this blond haired white woman had set.

Okay, so what you just did there was conflate two totally different arguments. The argument about women being judged on looks is simply about her appearance facial wise, how she looks (depending on the judge sans-makeup).

You're making an argument that it's not nice or not fair (correct me if i'm wrong) that we judge black women's appearance based on metrics that were used in slavery times to pick a fit servant.

And the only reason you are comparing the two from what i'm getting is they both used the number system to define value. Uh Okay. That's the only similarity connected between both examples.

Again, I am talking about a numerical value being applied by adults, not the emotive concerns of a friendly face through the eyes of an infant. I have twin daughters, and I have read the studies.

No I've heard of light skin, that still has nothing to do with the inherent value of the number system. Let me re structure my point. If you were at a beauty pageant and you were a judge, and you had to judge 20 women, and you had to pick 3 to go to the semi-finals, then picked out of the 3, how would you rate them? You do understand you're making two totally different arguments and the number system being used isn't the problem right? A number isn't inherently bad, math isn't racist.

The whole beauty standard in these industries, including slavery, was created to make white people comfortable. Black women were placed at the bottom, for obvious reasons. You even have other ethnic groups who think that it is okay, even funny, to talk to Black women like this.....no regard, no respect.

I also sister have who I'm technically raising now that I think about it (or at the very least helping raise). My sister that I personally had to tell and teach that it was wrong to stare at, cry, scream, and or point at when she saw a boogerwolf and say "look" when she learned that word.

I even have an "ugly" mask that I had use to scare tactics on her w/ that "ew/look/ugly" **** got so out of hand:

There's was this one time I was flabbergasted in the Target in City Point though. That woman just looked horrible. I'm cringing type this tbh. That lady had hair her on her ******* chest too. One the few times I've saw seen someone in person and associated them w/ being "ugly". She was definitely a non transwoman too. Must've been 5'9 w/ a slender Mark Henry build, matching denim jacket & pants w/ a floral shirt that exposed cleavage, and all white sneakers. I don't I've been in that Target since. Just a horrible moment in my life
