Nas might have a chance at actually winning....

this is the best song has has ever made, on the best album he's ever made I AM > his other efforts

Rappers I monkey flip em with the funky rhythm I be kicking

Musician, inflicting composition

Of pain I'm like Scarface sniffing cocaine

Holding a M-16, see with the pen I'm extreme, now

Bullet holes left in my peepholes

I'm suited up in street clothes

Hand me a nine and I'll defeat foes

"just cause you don't understand him it don't mean that he nice, it just means you don't understand all the ******** that he writes"

You realize you're trying to discredit a rapper for using metaphors?

nothing wrong with them, i just think its a lil overrated, in fact i think nysom 2 is superior to the first one

What.....a rapper IN the music BUSINESS makes music for a large percentage of CONSUMERS....shocking. Such an intriguing concept.

Well some dont. Some have a passion for it

Some want to showcase their skill. Not everyone makes music for others

musically...

jay z catalog pisses on nas, outside of  I AM and It was written his albums have been overrated. just good songs here and there.

reasonable doubt > ewwmatic easily

nas spits a bunch of gibberish disguised as lyricism just cause it rhymes good

that's some deep **** right there

To call illmatic ewwmatic just shows how confused you really are. They are both great albums but illmatic is a top 5 hip hop album of all time. That just shows your ignorance.

thats true, but i hope you're not talking about NAS cause believe me he tried. he failed but he most definitely tried

But quoting fairly basic metaphors and then saying that you don't understand them does.

Jay got a better catalog than Nas, that bside concert he did pooped on any classic Nas ever performed.

How many artist have classic songs for their true core fans, and also have mainstream song that keep the cash rolling in?

It has to be some other reason dudes like nas more.

Like im dead serious no troll i dont see it.

Illmatic was great....i own it......stillmatic....bought it
Gotten a bunch of nas songs

RD was great....i own it.....blueprint. .....bought it

yeah i can agree with that somewhat, but these dudes act like nas is trash or something. When that is not the case at all. They are both great rappers.

Bro you know damn well when a company is purchased or bought out the CEO and higher ups are always the first to go

If you're a head boss at an underperforming company and someone buys that company, you might as well start boxing your stuff

Exactly. And the new owner gets to bring in whoever they want.

Get it?

another reason why jay is better. you can take all of has rhymes at face value while hovs rhymes be having 2 or 3 meanings

Mike Jordan of rap - outside J workin
Now watch how quickly I drop 50

"I gave you power"
"Poison"
"Rewind"
"Verbal Intercourse" verse
"Fast Life" verse w/Kool G Rap
Various Mobb Deep features
Various AZ features
"Hot Boys" verse
"Accidental Murders" "Triple Beam Dreams" verses w/Rick Ross
"Understanding"
"Goodmorning"
"Thug Mansion" verse w/Tupac
"The Pledge" verse w/Ja Rule/Murder Inc
"Black Republicans"
"Live at the BBQ"

But Jay has a better catalog    And I didn't mention Illmatic (which shouldn't be, would be unfair) Again, Jay, Nas, both top tier rappers. Mos Def/Yasiin is better than Jay-Z too. I'm not trying to discredit Jay-Z. I'm a big fan but, there are a PLETHORA of persons who are lyrically equal, or better.

Why are you comparing songs to a catalog of albums?
