perhaps, but dont you think that he would be so much better if he really focused more on fundamentals, like kareem hounded him on? he has better footwork than dwight, but let's be honest.. bynum is no hakeem or kareem.. and doesnt even have a sky hook, with kareem as his mentor since he was 18..

"doesn't even have a sky hook"

bruh how many nba players you know that have that move down.

Can someone tell me about or show me the vast array of moves within Bynum's Arsenal?

As far as I know his finesse consists of a jump hook to either side when backing down. Sometimes he will drive and put up a shot but that is RARE. His "jumper" is so flat and goes in like 1% of the time.

His footwork allows him to back down his man and drop step to either side but a lot of big men can do that. Bynum seems to be effective and more skilled than other big men when doing that because of his size. However, only his hook shots are consistent because when he tries to do fakes (which any big man can also do) he takes so damn long to gather himself that the defender can help defenders can recover. He gets blocked a lot for someone his size.

This is why he gets shut down or slowed down by dudes like Perkins and Okafor. When he can not back them down he either puts up some weak shot or gets the ball stolen by a guard. That is why the offense seems to die whenever it gets to him. He has zero speed so if he can not back down a player he has to resort to his skills to dominate. I have yet to see that except for a highlight play or two.

He thrives on those garbage points and passes from Kobe or Gasol though.

That is why I can not agree with people that say his offense is better than Dwight. His footwork might be better than Dwight but so far it has not helped in making him a beast on offense. Howard's career high is like 46 or 48. He has limited moves but they seem to be way more effective than Bynum's. Howard is also more effective at getting to the line due to his athleticism and speed even though he sucks at shooting free throws. Howard is better in the pick n roll game as well.

Bynum is already 24. Does he really seem like the type of player that will add something to his game when he has not even mastered whatever moves he has now? :smh: I just do not see Bynum becoming a future scoring machine in the future. Especially with the scrubs he is gonna be surrounded with in Philly. He is not gifted offensively, he is just big.

He does have the potential to be as good or better than Dwight on defense but then I remember how he always jogs back on defense :smh:.

When you consider all those things, his knees, his attitude, and what Dwight has ALREADY DONE as opposed to POTENTIAL then you can see how great of a trade it was. :pimp:

man im a laker fan no matter what , but dwight IMO atleast (just like he did in orlando) will be

the victim of the whistle blowers come playoff times , he was in jeopardy of fouling out by the third quarter of every other

playoff game in orlando , not to mention if he does make it to the 4th he's a liability in crunch time both because

vets like ginobli/parker live to get contact against big men and because he's one of the worse free throw shooters in the nba.

i will gladly take everything back while crying tears of joy if we win a chip next year , as of now this trade isnt sitting well

with me

Man, the PnR in 09 playoffs (especially 09) was so lethal. Damn near flawless. And then they gradually run it less and less over the next couple years... :smh:

PnR is where it's at come playoff time when the game is close and the pressure is building.

The numbers for next year will be much different than what has normally happened in their careers because Bynum will see a large increase in use.. If Drew has 21 ppg, and Dwight has 17ppg.. None of us should call this a bad trade, because Bynum could NEVER score 21ppg on this Lakers team if he wasn't the 1st Option. And unfortunately for us, when he's not getting the ball more than everyone.. HE CHECKS OUT..

Dwight runs the floor better.. Works better with Nash's style of play... And is a monster on defense, which is more important to us than the offense..

Let's just compare last year... Dwight's worst season (OF his prime).. Andrew's best Season....

Andrew shot 13.3 shots per game.
Dwight shot 13.4 shots per game.

Dwight 57.3%
Andrew Bynum 55.8%

Since 04-05 Dwight has never been worse than 10th in FG% and that was 04-05.. Career wise he has the 5th best FG% ever.

In terms of being able to create a shot Bynum is better.. His footwork allows him to make a move that Dwight just cannot.. But in terms of general shot selection Dwight is better because he doesn't force as many shots as Bynum. Who has trouble with doubles, and rushing a shot to beat the double team. Rather than pass it out, which Dwight does more effectively and he does when he knows he needs to, Bynum shoots because HE WANTS TO BE #1.

In terms of FT shooting. Bynum is much better at 69.2% as opposed to 49.1% last year for Dwight.. Absolutely horrid number for Dwight, even by his own standards, but this is why it was his worst season.. He typically shoots 9.7% better at 58.8% from FT.. Bynum shoots 68.7%.

Their FG% difference, and FT% difference makes it a wash on how they create points.

But where as Bynum doesn't draw fouls, Howard does draw fouls.. 10.6 FT/Game for Dwight.. Compared to 5.6FT/Game for Bynum... And they were not used significantly different in their respective offenses.. 23.6% of possessions were involving Howard.. 21.5% of possessions were involving Bynum..

Because they were used fairly similarly in possessions, receiving similar shots per game.. Dwight shooting better from the field, and getting more points from the line because he generates more attempts.. It is clear that while Bynum is more fundamentally sound, he isn't much more efficient than Dwight on offense. The reason people pick Andrew is the fact that Dwight loses 2 points a game with the way he shoots FTs. If he was at his normal rate of 58.8% he loses only 1ppg the way he shoots at the line compared to Bynum..

Dwight fortunately makes up for it by shooting better, getting to the line more.. And saves points by being the best Defensive Rebounder in the league, and having the best Defensive Rating since 08-09..

"We're hopeful that 10 years from now we can hang a jersey on that wall over there that says Dwight Howard."
-Mitch Kupchack

:smokin :smokin

I'm hoping that Dwight learns 2 things about us this upcoming season: we're a winning organization, and we're a professional organization.

I think that was Mitch showing the professional side of how we do. That was him showing Dwight "When we commit to a franchise player, we make plans to do so for a very long, successful period of time. We're choosing you next. We don't want to have you as pieces of a blockbuster trade later. We want to continue bringing in championships... with you. We clear? No, no... this ain't the Orlando Magic, where things are kind of clear. We want to hang your jersey up someday. Is. It. CLEAR how we feel about you?"

How come Kobe is so popular in China? Is it mainly because of his Nike basketball camp?

I did a report on Nike's expansion into China.. From what I read is two things.:

1. Nike pushed him in China, and the fact that he is in China every year, and respects their culture
2. He's a winner. Chinese culture respects and reveres winning.
