I was going to say something like that. I don't think the offense should be able to play physical while the defense has to watch themselves.

Are players getting stronger and faster than in years past? I dont remember this being a huge problem many many years ago, decades even. Are players becoming dirty?

Harrison is a POS with a history of dirty hits who needs to be dealt with on and off the field if he keeps pulling this #@@!.
I felt his hit on Cribbs was not intentional. That second hit was awful and I wish the suspension rule had been in place before because he deserved it.

With the added attention and focus on concussions I feel as though the "problem" is exacerbated.
I do agree with some of the posts in the thread in that with the NFL's new found love of player safety, concussions, hits, etc. it does feel extremely convenient in light of the inevitable 18 game schedule. They can turn around and say they are making the game more safe, are more aware of head injuries, etc. so they feel confident with moving to 18 games.

i agree with you ... ... ... ... so i dont understand why you're so upset ... james harrison should be given 2-4 games ...
but for instance, you know the league would have suspended robinson for the djax hit, but that hit was legal and part of the game ... the refs can barely call the game half way decent right now, imagine if someone like ray lewis or polamalu was suspended for a playoff game because they "wrecked" someone ... give me a break ...

I honestly have thoughts that if they took away the helmets, people would stop leading with their head as much. I dont know though. Most of these guys aren't doing it intentional and it just happens to be helmet to helmet.
I liked what Chris Carter had to say last night. More passing brings more violent hits. You dont see alot of violent hits on running plays. With more teams airing it out, you are seeing bigger collisions.
I dont like the rule change. I still dont like the horse collar rule either.

i dont know why i care though, the cowboys could only benefit from a rule like this ... we have the charminest soft safeties and corners god ever created to be a defenser of thrown footballs ...
