Nike Basketball and "AIR"

No kidding, I would like to know if there was any research done on this topic. Don't get on me too hard, I have adidas, Converse, Reebok, and Nike sittingon my shoe shelf, and I play in them all (as well as run in Mizuno and Asics), and I know it depends on the person, runner, gait, etc. But does anyone know ofan ACTUAL study done on cushioning properties and injury, prevention, energy return/foot fatigue, durability? Would make for some very interesting reading forsome of us (and I want truly independent, not adidas Fromotion research or Nike Zoom info).

Hey Dukie.. dont feel bad.. One year I played in a pair of Adi 1 cleats because they came in Patent all over and in my team colors. They were actually comfy,altho I wore Spats so all you could see were the toe cap.. EVERYONE knoew they were Adis and guess what.. so did I..

But me wearing them certainly didn't mean Cleated Adis were on the map. Hell folks wore S. Carter Cleats too.. cause they were cheap.. Ground breaking? Ummno. I also wear New Balance..then again Im from the DMV.. so its a right of passage.

Okay..whoever said Reebok pulled their shoes out of footlocker and other chain stores obviously doesnt know much about retail. If you have a product thatwarrants a demand, the buyer of that retail store will buy the product...if there is know demand..then the buyer wont pursue and purchase orders.

I highly doubt any brand... in a recession..... will purposely pull their shoes out of a big retailer ..... The last reebok shoe that I've seen soon torelease is the Kamikazi and it has large branding, like old school branding... anyways

speaking of cushioning....its all subjective...I would say about 60%.... If it works and you dont "feel" it ...then you might not think its doing itsjob....
Air is very deliberate in how it feels....Its and instant response that you feel and immediately assume that "some form" of energy distribution istaking place.

Again its all subjective....to a degree....i would like to see studies done aswell, but then you'd have to factor in Movement, size, weight, ect...its avalid question to ask...i dont understand the hate...I guess some people treat Nike like a religion, and any healthy skepticism isn't well received

While a scientific study seems pretty silly, I'm sure that if you put Max Air (my favourite nike cushioning) against adiprene (or any other basketballbrand's cushioning), the Max Air would win hands down in impact protection.

Dark Chocolate posting a supposed topic is like the crazy transient who always gets escorted out the Jack-in-the-Box for talking nonsense, threateningcustomers and smelling. Then he uses spare change to buy a cup of coffee and thinks that since he's a paying customer he can still talk nonsense, threatencustomers and smell. Then when he gets thrown out again will cry foul and blame race or some other form of discrimination...when he does smell, talks nonsenseand threatens customers. We want to enjoy our Jumbo Jacks and not have some transient there to ruin our fine dinning experience.

And funny when Dark Chocolate throws out race talk when Coach Hubie used to always avoid saying what race he was. Justice God at least would act like amilitant Muslim and throw out phrases that turned out to be taunts and threats (thanks Google for the translation). Splendid Visions we knew was theFashionista who told us how unfashionable our Nike' were so no real race assigned for that character. Still waiting for him to create/assign/become therest of his Screen Names like the Cop, the Construction Worker, the Biker and the Indian.

All in all, Coach Hubie is a role model. As a 36 year old man, seeing how a person can devote so much time and effort to cause E-drama on a message board makeme realize that some out there really do need help, a life, or a hobby. Maybe time for me and others to log off and not let ourselves become the same way.
