OFFICIAL 2009/2010 EPL Season Post

How about this for a Utd. backfour... Fletcher, Carrick, Brown, Evra. Injuries, injuries and injuries...
smh.gif

Rooney's alone upfront...

^ yet they still lead

, Neville cant stay healthy to save his life...he was subbed after only 30 minutes or so...nice goal by Scholes though

Sorensen is keeping Stoke in this, should be 3 or 4 nothing for Arsenal but its only 1

Bringing on Berba and switching back to a 4-4-2 made a difference as well...

Owen getting 20 mins of trash time...

liverpool drop more points?
laugh.gif
. it will be pathetic if neither spurs/villa/city can steal that 4th spot

It was Lampard, but yeah it wasn't the greatest penalty. Low and towards the middle. I don't understand why experienced penalty takers don't goupper-90 every time. It's an unsaveable shot. Not saying everyone should do it, but a world-class player like Lampard should be able to. If he can't,someone else on Chelsea can put it upper 90. No way Lampard should be kicking that ball where he did.

Lampard missing a penalty is quite a big surprise...he's usually Chelsea's Mr Reliable when it comes to spotkicks...

anyway, how was that match?did City finally play like title contenders?
a win against an on-form team at the top of the league is a great result...Utd and Arsenal couldn't even get a draw against the Blues...

Ashton forced to retire

West Ham United have announced that striker Dean Ashton has been forced to retire from professional football at the age of 26.

Ashton had not played a first-team game for 14 months and speculation had mounted in recent weeks that the Hammers would announce that his career had been curtailed.

The striker could never fully recover from an ankle injury suffered at England training in August 2006 and West Ham may now seek compensation in the form of a £7 million insurance claim against the Football Association.

England boss Fabio Capello rated Ashton highly and tipped him to make a big impact on the international stage, handing him his Three Lions' debut in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago last summer.

Zola had persistently refused to write-off Ashton but the striker was forced to admit defeat because of chronic degeneration in the ankle.

i remembered Ashton scoring a beautiful scissor-kick the last time he played against Man Utd...
it's really tragic...players normally start to peak in their careers at around 26...

How have Citeh not fired Sparky yet???

Man City's D is atrocious. Any other team with some quality attackers would've put 5-6 goals past them today. Bolton were messing up 2 on 1s, 3 on 2s,1 on 1s...it was frustrating seeing them waste so many amazing opportunities.

If Man City dont tighten up at the back then they'll miss out on a UCL spot. They've allowed 2+ goals on 6 different occasions so far in EPLplay

Tevez is pure class. Man Utd. could've saved themselves some money by allowing Tevez to remain their #2 striker instead of bringing in Berbatov. Did anyonesee Tevez's 2nd goal today? Left footed shot from the left side of the box while running at full speed and a defender grabbing his shirt

I dont think I've ever seen Cech play so poorly. Some of these goals he's been allowing over the past few weeks have been his fault. If he keeps thisup then I can definitely see Chelsea replacing him in the summer.
