ASTROS 15, NATIONALS (ss) 5

Astros at the plate: With a stiff breeze blowing out to center field, the Astros pounded out 21 hits, including five home runs, against a Washington split-squad. Houston wiped out a 5-0 deficit by scoring nine runs in the fourth, with Hunter Pence (3-for-3) leading off the inning with a solo homer and adding a three-run homer later in the frame. Yordany Ramirez, Pedro Feliz, Edwin Maysonet and J.R. Towles each had two hits apiece. Jason Michaels went 3-for-3 with a homer.

Nothing like playing the nationals for some batting practice

the best part of the game, why carlos lee didnt play.

Lance Berkman is expected to make his spring debut for the Astros and is scheduled to get two at-bats as the designated hitter. Berkman missed Thursday's opener with a knee bruise, but should return to action against the Tigers. Houston will still be without Carlos Lee, who's in Houston to show cattle at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

When you're at the top people try to take you down anyway.

If by "at the top" you mean top of the food line, you are correct.  Plate ready indeed.

I will translate this so W4L can understand.
PRINCE FIELDER IS FATTER THAN YOUR MOMMA

People can make fun of his weight all they want.  160 homeruns in 4 full seasons, 450 rbis, weight or not, dude is a flat out stud with the bat.  As long as his weight doesn't affect his playing he can be as big as he wants.

W4L Season Predictions:
(no homerisim allowed)

Brewers 94-68,
Pitching much improved and best 1-2 offensive punch in baseball.
Cardinals 92-70, Dangerous team but their pitching won't be as good as last season.
Reds 70-92, Blah blah blah watch out for the Reds blah blah blah, we've been getting this every season for the last 5 years.  It's getting old.
Astros 69-93, Lame team.
Pirates 60-102, Organization is a joke as well as their players.
Cubs 58-104, Team is on the decline, players are aging, fans are in denial, coach is senile, the team is in a bad situation.  Zambrano will choke out Lou by midpoint of the season.
Yeah, that's a unbiased, being real to yourself predictions right there.

To up arstyle's bet, I bet that if the Cubs match that record or do even worse, I'll wear a Brewers jersey. If the Brewers barely reach 94 wins or higher, u wear a Cubs jersey. Since we're all being real and honest here with our predictions.

I doubt even Stringer would go as far as predicting that outcome for the Cubs.

I'm from Chicago, but honestly I don't like the Cubs chances this year, Sox will do better , I don't expect any good from Cubs this year so I guess that will make it 102.
I see the NL Central this way:
Cards, Brew Crew, Cubs, Reds, Pirates

I am really surprised how many people are counting the Cubs out. I guess most of you haven't learned that predicting baseball before a season starts is pointless. It seems like every year as far as I can remember when the Cards are predicted to win the division, they don't. I will not be surprised if the Cubs run away with the division, hell I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers or Reds end up winning the Central.

Cubs will be fine. I dont see the same 4-5 guys repeating their terrible seasons from last year. I know my team better than most...we're good.

W4L, isn't there a point when you look around at everyone calling you out and then you start to realize, "Maybe it's not them, maybe it's me?"

That would require a degree of maturity and introspection that W4L just does not posses. Maybe some day.
