OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

Not excited whatsoever for Tom King to write Booster Gold in this upcoming event. :{ I didn't like how he wrote Booster in his Batman run. Not a big fan of his Batman run. Honestly didn't like The Omega Men either. Don't like how he wrote Kyle Rayner in that. Not even sure if I like his Mister Miracle right now TBH. Even though The Vision is one of my favorite things I've read in the last couple years.

The Clay Mann art is really nice though.

Looks like Azzarello and Bermejo are back together to do another elseworlds book for the new DC Black Label.

DC BLACK LABEL, the highly anticipated new imprint from DC Comics, starts here!

The Joker is dead.

There is no doubt about that. But whether Batman finally snapped his scrawny neck or some other sinister force in Gotham City did the deed is still a mystery.

Problem is, Batman can’t remember…and the more he digs into this labyrinthian case, the more his mind starts to doubt everything he’s uncovering.

So who better to set him straight than…John Constantine? Problem with that is as much as John loves a good mystery, he loves messing with people’s heads even more. So with John’s “help,” the pair will delve into the sordid underbelly of Gotham as they race toward the mind-blowing truth of who murdered The Joker.

BATMAN: DAMNED is a bimonthly super-natural horror story told by two of comics’ greatest modern creators—a visceral thrill-ride that proudly puts the “black” in BLACK LABEL.

Former SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN Writer Returns for SUPERIOR OCTOPUS

Former Superior Spider-Man co-writer Christos Gage returns this fall for Superior Octopus with artist Mike Hawthorne. Just announced at Marvel's Spider-Man panel here at Comic-Con International: San Diego, Superior Octopus promises to have, according to editor Nick Lowe, something shocking every five pages.

"If you read Superior Spider-Man, you know that when Doc Ock was in Peter Parker's body, he used supervillain methods to be a superhero — you're going to see more of that," Lowe said. "Every five pages you're going to see something that will shock you — it will either appall you or make you cheer."

Superior Octopus #1 is scheduled to debut October 8, with covers by Travis Charest.

Speaking of Spider-Man. Who is the guy in the black/gold Iron Spider costume? Is that Miles' uncle?

I was hoping the SDCC Spider-Man panel would announce Miles' new persona (or name?). |l He still has the same costume on the Spider-Geddon #1 cover from last month. (It's dope and probably my favorite Spider costume, but it's hard to shine as Spider-Man when Pete's around.) Thought he might get a Nightwing type of push.

Tom King is not the goods. Been saying it after I gave him a chance after his first few arcs. I knew he was average at best with that whole Bat/Cat issue.

Marvel holding off on that.

They don't stunt for SDCC anymore. NYCC is where its at.

I expect a relatively bug creative team for Miles next comic and it probably won't be a Spider costume.

Tom King is not the goods. Been saying it after I gave him a chance after his first few arcs. I knew he was average at best with that whole Bat/Cat issue.

That issue was TURRIBLE and he constantly uses that type of dialog everywhere. Everyone is stuttering like Simple Jack then repeating themselves and each other like a nursery rhyme. The I Am Bane arc was agonizing. Batman says 2 phrases the entire time.

Tom King wrote The Vision and it was great, but then he repeated it everywhere. Mister Miracle and Batman are speaking in limerick. It's like Melissa McCarthy, who was funny in a smaller role in Bridesmaids. Which is a funny movie, but now she plays the same loud bumbling overweight woman with physical comedy in everything and it stopped being funny years ago.

Too bad McDuffie is no longer with us. I can't think of anyone better to write Miles than the guy who co-created Static. I hope they get a DOPE creative team.

Well Preist is a good choice you just posted about on another Spider book. If he can get over writing a black Spidey he'd be great.

I dropped Tec around #970. It started good, but I didn't like the Victim Syndicate or what they were doing with Steph or Tim. I'm def down for Tomasi and Mahnke tho.
