Joe Girardi just announced at his pregame press conference that Javier Vazquez will not take his regular turn Friday night at Fenway. Instead he will take two bullpen sessions, tomorrow and Friday, and then start Monday’s series opener in Detroit. Phil Hughes will pitch on normal rest Friday night because of Thursday’s off day.
