    FAQ:

How do the Kobe 8 run? -TRUE TO SIZE

Kobe 8 is a low top, does it put me at risk for ankle sprain/injury? - High/low top, injuries can happen. The height of collar doesn't prevent ankle sprain, at the end of the day it's the stability of the shoe that supports you.

What's Kobe 8 "GC"? Did I get a fake shoe? GC means Greater China, it comes with a XDR sole.

What happened to the Kobe 8 N7? -THERE IS NO N7 COLORWAY IN THE KOBE LINE

(WILL UPDATE THIS IN THE NEXT COMING WEEK)

Engineered Mesh. It's on a ton of Retro product from Nike Sportswear next year. Kobe VIII leads with a performance version, lots of colorways and graphics coming....

these will probably perform beastly though, as long as they are made similar and light like the V's these will be good.

VII's were a BIG let down.

Shape does look good. Can't wait to try on Kobe VIII for performance. Design wise I think it looks better than his most recent models. Personally I liked seeing the Swoosh on the toe, but as long as the VIII plays well on court this one should be a Kobe fan favorite...

Love that they kept the heel cup.

Overall shape looks really nice, interesting to see how this system works out though.

Im sure well see some changes before the final product but as of now, im having some high hopes for these.[IMG]

Will wait for the finished product to see how I like the VIII. Last year's sample I was feeling right out the gate but this early version there are some things I'm not feeling. Glad the Swoosh isn't on the toe box, it doesn't work with how the toe box shape looks. It sounds promising with it being more lightweight again.

Yep. Kobe VIII initial sample does have a very Mercurial-like look to it. Think they turned out well though from what I've seen even though the Swoosh placement makes it look like IV-VII which is the same boring branding location every year.

    Quick thoughts:

    - Wish they kept the swoosh on the toe just to shake things up a bit more looks wise, but I'm glad to see that it doesn't look like just a majority one piece upper like the VIs and VIIs had. Should give more options for creative colorblocking.
    - Interested to see what that mesh upper is all about. Glad to see them switch it up a bit more from the plasticky uppers we've had from IV-VII.
    - Not a fan of the "system" again, but I'm assuming it's gonna be a definite upgrade over the VIIs like the Jordan 2012s upgrading over the 2011s.
    - Very excited about trying these on ASAP. Curious how they come back after the VIIs

I like the shape, but from what I can see I'm not a fan of the midsole. I hope there is more protection in the top of the foot/tongue area. I like the idea of moving the swoosh back to the same placement of the IV-VII personally. Will the VII system fit in the VIIIs? I hope the system plays better than the VII system. I remember the pics from the prototype VII and how it had that aggressive mid sole that was just bananas, and then in the final version they toned it alllllll the way down. I am excited to see the final version with clearer pics.
