Annoyed I hit on a sneaker raffle for my homie almost 2 weeks back. Money was taken outta my account immediately. Usually when I do something like that people are so happy they send money asap, somehow shoes have arrived and I repackaged to send to the homie yet still no payment. I figured what the hell and just shipped the shoes (this is my homie homie), told bro I got the shoes in the mail and total is 155. Figured he would get the clue and send it but nope.
Now I gotta figure out how to broach the subject without losing a friend.
Ps I've done well enough in life that some of my friends think I'm rich. I'm not, I have more disposable income because of my investments etc. But I hate people counting my pockets. I have a strong suspicion that's why my homie not pressed on getting that dough to me. What he doesn't know is that was my living allowance for the week. So he actually put me in a mental bind til that money hit smh.
I owe DCAllAfrican close to 10k after the business loan he thankfully gave me a few months back.
I got you man, thanks again!
My sister cashed a 1k lotto scratcher for my dad and she hasn’t given him the money....it’s been over a year now
never again... and peep this. He JUST asked me for $300 the other day. I AINT GOT IT, PATNA!!!”
Money management is a personality trait, I'm seeing that more the older I get. In the past I hated asking for money but please believe I got it back the day I promised it.
I've got a close family member that I've had to deny multiple times and told them to pawn/sell something bc that's what I had to do when I was on a bind.
The fact that they can't go to a bank for a loan tells you all you need to know really.
This topic is one reason I'm glad I don't have a big family... Less people to hassle you for money.
Some people really get in these binds and think someone will help.
My bro got a homie like this, low-key I feel it's a control thing. He begs for 40 every time he sees him but is always in new sneakers/gear, new additions to his whip, tricking on women in high end hotels, renting "stars" etc. Just reckless with his money but lax on priorities like gas because he knows his homie got him.
This some real silver spoon **** boi **** to say?
"Dont look at me, you better go pawn that tv!"
You used to borrow money from PEOPLE not the BANK, but now you in a better position you tellin your folk not to come to you go to the bank?
And I didn't know banks just out here handing out payday loans like that.
Must be a white privilege.
It's a dude in here who owe money right now and you know who you are fam posting
Agreed that this is the way to go. The issue is when it is family or someone close, it is hard to turn them down. Another reason is you think what if someday you are in a tough spot and need help? My rule of thumb is to only lend out what I am winning to give as a gift.bottom line NEVER lend money and don't borrow money and you will never have problems
how is that white privilege ? Also what incentive does someone have to better themself if they know they can always come to you when they need bus fare or some gas in the tank or pay their cell phone bill (personal experience with family member)
