There's two really important things you should do.
- Exercise as much as you can. It really does alter your brain chemistry and blunts depression and anxiety.
- Mindfulness, it works. You can google a lot about it but in short, you should neither engage nor totally ignore an abstract thought. You can avoid a lot of guessing and imagining the worst case scenario by doing so. Also, be sure to take deep breaths and always be aware of at least two of your senses. If you can feel your feet on the ground and you really listen to the birds chirping and you are looking at the sky, you can really crowd out stressful thoughts.
