e74? i had that, threw it out a week before MS said they'd fix it for free. FML. but i have an elite GOTY bundle coming in next week. still have a healthy20GB on my desk though

if warranty seal is still intact then go give MS a call, if not then do the X clamp method.

even if you don't get the red rings and it doesn't work just call and tell them you have the red rings. pretend to do the trouble shootingtips and they will replace the system

So what happens when they check for red rings and you don't have one?
If you're not under warranty they hold your xbox hostage until you pay them
If you don't have a red ring I wouldn't recommend tell MS you do have one

i have called when my 360 kept getting a E73 error toll them i had the red rings and they replaced my fifth system, but maybe they replaced itbecause i had so many of them fail on me
