Real Talk. I had some Jamaican Roti in Miami, they put some ice cold cabbage and veggies inside mine with the hot curry potato, and my mom got one with a fish head in it. No good. The times I have had Jamaican Roti, I always got an upset stomach. Trini Roti FTW!

^^ word i didn't know other countries had roti, i thought it was just an indian staple. i guess when indians were enslaved in the carribean they bought it there. though i prefer naan, i don't like greasy foods

as a born american but raised by trinidadians, in a west indian neighborhood, I can say trinidadian roti is better than any other country. no bias involved.
I eat a lot of jamaican food since my girl is from there, but its kinda apples to oranges. Trinidadians prefer their own food, and jamaicans prefer their own food. Thats just how it is.
But shrimp roti is unstoppable

I have yet to have food better than went to Trini in 2000.....Ill long until I go back

yep.  it's a bun with a crunchy coffee-y topping.  sometimes with fillings like cream cheese or chocolate.  having one fresh out the oven.....

I see people are getting 2 different things mixed up.

Roti is heated on iron and does not require oil to be fried.

The other thing I see posted is paratha which is very similar to a roti but fried in oil or ghee. It is also often stuff with lentils or potatoes or whatever you like really. These are more greasy so obviously more unhealthy.
