Conservatives...lets have a heart to heart...

as humans why are regulations on making coal and natural gas more clean a bad thing?

Why should we think nature will "take care of itself?"

Why is it ok to strip mine the land to death?

Why is looking for alternative energy a bad thing?

Why shouldn't we think that humans are the only species that matters?

Now personally...I'd like to think that I wasn't just a "liberal"...I think that I'm someone who can be swayed bycompetingclaims and will support whatever idea proves itself and its utility. I would like to think that I wouldn't just naturally flock to the "liberal" side...that I tried to weight the balance of the argument and not pick the one that the most black people were choosing, or my friends/family, or my employer...but because I felt it was the thing that would benefit more people, or would lead to greater overall prosperity...

but. for the life of me, I disagreed with literally everything Rick Santorum said...On top of that, he managed to contradict himself by saying initially that the government wanted to impose regulations, but then admitted to having government positivelyenforceregulations on energy production at the end of his speech.

Is it naive of me to think that just because "god" gave us the earth that then we're free to trash the place? I mean we still gotta live here. Is it wrong to want cleaner air and water? Is it wrong to instead of drilling domestically, to not drill at all and look for alternative sources of energy?

I dont know if I'm seeing things the wrong way here...but I do know that if disagreeing makes me a liberal...then I guess I'm a liberal.

no, youre not.
wind & solar >>>
yes, expensive at first but a very wise investment. i know my house will have solar panels.

rick santorum lost all common sense credibility when he railed on obama for not leading the country strictly by the bible. really though?

These ppl lie so much that ppl are just gonna stop listening to politicians all together one day soon.

I stopped listening a long time ago, now I'm waiting for my brethren to join me.

i don't even pay attention to the GOP race anymore. that thing is just a circus. obama's got it in the bag anyway.

Thank Zeus none of these GOP candidates are electable (I hope). It's a shame this man is even in the running for the presidency, much less winning states.

Slight problem with that.
See, as much as I want to ignore their rhetoric, and as stupid as so much of this sounds...they're still the ones legally in charge of the country...

...so until you (*insert action/name/item/something that would get me placed on the terrorist watch list*) then you'll have to enact your "change" via a vote for a candidate that best represents you.

The thing that irks me is...how much hes winning these caucuses...I mean...there are people that Santorum's message goes right up their alley. I mean there are folks who wake up and are glad that Rick Santorum opened his mouth the day before.

Thats the real issue with me.

Problem with politics in this country in general are that instead of people identifying with issues and policies that actually can and should be changed in law. People identify with social issues which really have no bearing on how the economy or a country would be run in the end. I mean this occurs outside of the US as well, but it so strong hear because of the extremely large bible belt region and deep religious routes of this country.

How many times do I have to tell you people that the Republican Party are a modern day National Socialist Party?

I see you GOP.  Keep putting these clowns out in front to help lead your party, I'm loving it.

Change isn't possible.  I haven't been following the election at all, but if what is said in that picture of Santorum is true, he's obviously an idiot.  Which makes the people supporting him either ignorant or equally stupid.
There is no route for the common man to enact true political "change" in this country.  Plain and simple.

It's a farce, and has been for quite some time.  That's why I was pulling for Herman Cain, just so everyone can realize that.

No $%$+, I wake up in the morning and sit there in astonishment that this guy is still around. Like he is a real thing. He should be made believe, not real. People can actually vote for this thing. *#%%!%! incredible. It's like a really long played out prank.

A lot of people say this in jest, but I may move out of this country to Canada or the UK if this guy starts running this country

Let the GOP run a circus and have Santorum lead them into the general election. Does anyone here really think that moderates will elect a Republican candidate like Santorum over a center-left president like Obama? Barack is in some ways a more conservative version of Clinton. That is an electable president in this country, not the nimrods extremists that the GOP are running out to challenge him.

As for those of us who are upset with the masses that support the Santorums of the country, let's remember how slow progress is. We won't see the America we want, one that is center-left politically and maybe socially, for another generation or so. These extremists are shrinking in size, due to the passing of older generation and the influx of immigrants/progressive, ethnic leaders. Change is slow, but it flows progressively.
