People can't even park correctly in parking spots or signal when changing lanes. The thought of people with guns trying to play hero in bad situations would worry me.
You would rather people be sitting ducks just waiting for a madman to come end their life? If YOU or someone in YOUR family was in that school today, would you like them to have a handgun and the ability to save their life?
I'm not saying countries with strict gun laws are completely safe from mass shootings, I'm just saying it happens so rarely that I can live my life without feeling the need to own a gun or worry about someone shooting me. You named one mass shooting in a European country and it was in 2011.You forgot about the dudes in Norway who shot up a whole island, what about that one bud? Shooting people in their backs as they're trying to swim away.
i thought the school banned weapons from being on campus.. i saw someone post something from teh schools page.. a page earlier..Having a weapon doesn't mean citizens are going to act accordingly under pressure though. In a place where people could carry there was still no intervention by civilians with guns.
It wasn't my intention so sorry if you took it that way.You had a very elitist way of writing that. Acting like y'all are angels over there.

And for the record I mentioned Switzerland specifically because it's the only 1st world country that is comparable to the US in terms of gun ownership.
I can't think of any mass shootings in Switzerland, at least not recently.
America has gotten use to other stuff just as bad and sometimes worse. So this is just gonna keep happening? Like its become normal to have this happen a couple times a year?
He's reportedly in custodyDid the shooter off himself or was he arrested?

I also heard he was in his late 20s. That's also wrong. ******* reddit.
Alot news sites reported the custody thing too so I was confused as well.I also heard he was in his late 20s. That's also wrong. ******* reddit.
this is a cheap excuse that makes no senseSwitzerland has a percentage of the population of the USA, and thus its issues and solutions to issues can't be compared.I'm not saying countries with strict gun laws are completely safe from mass shootings, I'm just saying it happens so rarely that I can live my life without feeling the need to own a gun or worry about someone shooting me. Switzerland also doesn't have the wealth disparity/economic inequality that the United States has.this is a cheap excuse that makes no senseSwitzerland has a percentage of the population of the USA, and thus its issues and solutions to issues can't be compared.I'm not saying countries with strict gun laws are completely safe from mass shootings, I'm just saying it happens so rarely that I can live my life without feeling the need to own a gun or worry about someone shooting me. a nation of 8 million people is more than enough as a sample size to test human behaviour over gun control
Switzerland shows that a society with a high gun ownership rate can work. It has a population of nearly 8 million, that's more than some of the smaller states in the US.Switzerland has a percentage of the population of the USA, and thus its issues and solutions to issues can't be compared.
you are never going to find an example of successful gun control that perfectly fits american culture and population size. at some point you have to stop coming up with reasons why things wont work and take any kind of action. even if it's not efficient it will still bring the country that much closer to fixing the problem, and it it doesnt work then nothing changes.Switzerland also doesn't have the wealth disparity/economic inequality that the United States has.this is a cheap excuse that makes no senseSwitzerland has a percentage of the population of the USA, and thus its issues and solutions to issues can't be compared.I'm not saying countries with strict gun laws are completely safe from mass shootings, I'm just saying it happens so rarely that I can live my life without feeling the need to own a gun or worry about someone shooting me. Except as expressly authorized by law aka permit

And this is what's infuriating. Events like this seem to be happening with increaseed frequency. We'll hear the uproar in the coming days and then what? Absolutely nothing.you are never going to find an example of successful gun control that perfectly fits american culture and population size. at some point you have to stop coming up with reasons why things wont work and take any kind of action. even if it's not efficient it will still bring the country that much closer to fixing the problem, and it it doesnt work then nothing changes.
perfect solutions do not exist for complex problems. sitting around being negative will never lead to progress.
huh?Switzerland has a percentage of the population of the USA, and thus its issues and solutions to issues can't be compared.
