should NIKE restore MICHAEL VICK's contract?

I'll just run down the list. Keep in mind that this is my opinion.
To put it simply...
-After what he did he shouldn't be allowed to make millions of dollars playing a game.
-Those guys, whoever they may be, that have also done horrible things shouldn't be allowed to play either. For example, if Roethlisberger did in fact rape that woman then he should also be booted...no question.
-I hardly think less than 2 years in prison is paying for his 'transgressions'.
-A job in which he makes millions of dollars, as well as what many would consider other perks.
-assumptions..

. I never said or even implied anything remotely close to that. There are plenty of people who go to jail that deserve a second chance. The issue is the status of Vick's profession.

In the end it all comes down to a person's morals and how strongly that person feels about Vick's crime. In my eyes, Vick did something unforgiveable and the last thing he should get is millions of dollars to play a game and a slew of adoring fans...not to mention a Nike contract.

Irony.

What you're saying here is that because he committed a crime, he shouldn't be allowed to make money in his profession. GTF0.

On another note, Ray Lewis was linked to murder... the following season he's SuperBowl MVP.

His profession is relative, just as everything is.  He should not be further penalized because his job makes more money than most.

I'm not assuming anything.  All I did was use your statement and apply it to everyone.  The law is the law, it should not look at one person differently than another.  He served his penalty for the crimes he committed based on the law.  Don't forget that he is not 'making' all this money.  He filed for bankruptcy and owes many creditors quite a bit of money.

His play, so far, is at the highest level in the NFL.  Based on that he has earned the contract and Nike contract.  If he stays clean why would they keep their distance?  America was built on second chances.

I do not think it comes to morals, more personal opinion.  I am a dog lover, and yes, his actions are unforgivable in my eyes.  I do not like what he did, but as a professional athlete I cannot stop watching him because what he does is incredible.  He fulfilled his obligations for committing that crime in the courts eyes so in my mind he paid for what he did.  All personal opinion.  To non dog lovers he, yes brutally, killed animals.  In certain cultures it is a part of life, whether its dogs, chickens, or bulls, it is not looked down upon but looked at as sport.  Same thing as hunting.

LOL?  I'm sure Nike isn't too worried about LeBron seeing as that whole fiasco started a few months ago, and Tiger needs to start winning in order to rebuild his image.  As much as I dislike Kobe, he's a good example of how winning + a good marketing team can put you back on top...
Michael Vick leads NFL in Pro Bowl voting
NEW YORK (AP)—Michael Vick leads Pro Bowl voting 11/2 years after he was released from prison.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback had 729,838 fan votes, nearly 39,000 more than second-place Peyton Manning, the NFL said Wednesday. Manning topped the balloting two weeks ago before being surpassed by Vick.

It’s the latest evidence many fans seem willing to forgive Vick for the vicious dogfighting operation that sent him to prison for 18 months—and embrace his stunning return to NFL stardom. A backup to start the season, Vick has led the Eagles to first place in the NFC East, accounting for 21 touchdowns and throwing just two interceptions.

Manning had 691,146 votes, which led the AFC, followed by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (623,074), Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (591,598) and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (547,340).

Online Pro Bowl voting ends Dec. 20. The teams are picked by a combination of fans’, players’ and coaches’ votes.

Vick, a three-time Pro Bowler with the Atlanta Falcons, pleaded guilty to federal dogfighting charges in August 2007. He was released from federal custody and conditionally reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in July 2009. But it wasn’t clear how much interest teams would have in the quarterback who once wowed fans with his unique skills, yet frustrated them with his inconsistency when he last played in the league in 2006.

The Eagles signed him before last season, when he was the third-string quarterback and had limited playing time as a change of pace. Even after Philadelphia traded away Donovan McNabb, Vick was expected to back up Kevin Kolb. But when Kolb was hurt in the opener, Vick took over and showed a newfound maturity as a passer. Added to his running skills, he’s made the Eagles a contender at 8-4

Last time I checked he was playing in NIKES... So much for that thought .... And Seriously, do you think his NIKE reps would just drop him like that especially now... He still gets new kicks, and is still being blessed by the Swoosh ... Just not as much as it use to be ... Nike isnt like the others, they aren't just gonna leave him hanging.. And for all those still holding a grudge ... LET IT GO .... MOVE ON ... GET OVER IT ...
