Since Jeremy Lin is doing so well, situational racism is OK.

Jokes dealing with race are only okay when they reinforce positive stereotypes.

So until having a small penis is cool, somebody will complain despite all the Asian porn out there and the small censored blur area.

I actually agree..I'm not Asian and even I found it racist seeing that pic of Lin that says "Who said Asians can't drive?"..If you're gonna try to use racism in a humorous way, don't say some corny %+#% like that.

However, I did find the meme of the "Asian Father" that said "38 Points against Kobe? Why not 100?" to be pretty funny.

Again, I don't care if it is just jokes. Doesn't make it right.
The ONLY people I've heard make racially charged jokes about Lin in REAL LIFE are Asian.

This and the many others just like them...you know for certain Asians are the ones making them?

Son I said real life.  I don't consider internet memes real life. I don't know for certain an Asian didn't make that so what's your point?

That was stolen from an Asian person who made the sign at the Wizards game though...

But the point is that people shouldnt get hung up on stuff like this. Its not going anywhere and if theres anything the internet has taught me its to not let stuff like this get to you. People feed off reactions and giving them one is what they want

I was going to say something mean about your ability to draw conclusions but I know you're not that dumb.

You never heard of "White chocolate"? That's the same kind of nickname and I'm pretty sure no one cared

There's always nicknames like that for non-black players in basketball

Some of the people holding up the signs were Asian and their intent was to flip the stereotypes to make them funny. Most of the things are in good taste, while some go a little too far. Some Asians will be offended, but I think for the most part, IMO most of us don't care as long as its in good taste.

Ima remember you dudes when you pull the race card for the slightest off hand comment.

Ol stereotypes are ok as long as it's about my big penis and great dancing abilities type dudes.

It's the same as all Asians are good at math. Where's the All Asians Are Not Good At Math vol. Unappreciated Stereotype thread?

You're not even using "race card" in it's proper context.  Shows what you know.  This is merely a discussion about comments concerning Jeremy Lin that perpetuate Asian stereotypes.

2nd, lets not act like this isn't typical behavior when a person is having success and different than his peers.  Tiger Woods heard all the jokes too.  From whites and blacks.  Danica Patrick hears the jokes too.  Is it right? When it is done in good taste I don't see a problem with it.

I wouldn't be mad at Asians supporting a fellow asian while being clever with their OWN culture.  Who am I to judge that?

ESPN sports announcers that were black had jokes for days for Tiger.  Same with the Williams sisters in Tennis.  If you are different people will react.  Hell the same with Obama man.  He gets all these rap parody videos on WSHH and what not.  He's our president and everybody does comedy skits and impressions of him "acting black".  Same stuff.  If you are different than your peers it comes with the territory.

Its good and bad.  If Lin was black the story wouldn't be as big.  So he benefits from the fandom.  Dude had more fans that Steph Curry in Golden State.

Its not cool by any means, but I work with a Chinese cat and a Vietnamese cat and they were both saying the whole Asian Mamba bit. Mind you i'm their supervisor. They thought I was being sour I guess b\c I wasnt reveling in their joy. When in reality I didnt feel comfortable b\c  its kind of like having a white friend thinking its ok to say the N-word
