i wouldn't mind gaming or watching one movie in 3d once in a while, but i would mind if i had to do it for every single thing i watch on that particular tv. so for me it would be an easy pass.

all 3d tvs have backwards 2d support

You don't though. Just switch it back to regular mode and you still have a new, high quality HDTV. Just because it is a 3D capable tv doesn't mean you can only use it for 3D.

Niketalk...we should pool our monies and make the 1st 3-d pron website! 3-d may not catch on for some things...but i GUARANTEE it will catch on super quickly for that. Especially after hearing bout that dude that racked up 14k in porn debt...anything is possible.

Just bought a 65" 3D ready TV a couple of days ago.
The computer that is required and all of the extras will run about $2500.   
The option is there, but I still don't think that it's worth it to spend that much that just to run 3D at home.

Why are so many people crying about an additional optional technology being added to HDTVs? 

And FYI, the PS3 is 3D capable, but requires a firmware upgrade.

ESPN has already jumped on board. I'd like to see one in action, but no I just got a 40 inch Samsung LCD a year and a half ago so I won't be getting one anytime soon

I also saw the 3D TV at the sony store...tried it out..they had a cartoon on "meatball and rain" or something like that..

LOOKED AMAZING!!!!!

I can definitely see myself with one in the near future to watch movies from time to time..i also think sports would be AWESOME in 3D....

That is why 3D will never take off IMO. Until they figure out some way for people not to wear those glasses, 3D will never be huge outside of movie theaters. Im not going to sit around my house and wear glasses just to watch TV.
