past week of WDYWT:

im just too spoiled with the pair below. material is so soft it doesnt even crease.. just pure comfort. It's sad what Nike has become. but then I realize @a $110 MSRP in 1990, with inflation that could be around $150 or more. I'd pay that price definetly knowing what I was getting. but now we're stuckwith synthetic crease prone uncomfortable shoes at the same old MSRP of $110... theres no winning for nike

A shoe bound to crumble that is still holding up stong. I think its the rubber midsole thats of a different make and mold than of other early 90 shoes...

04 vs 08 zoom trainers:

this photo says its all. Softer leather and suede on the 04s give ultimate comfort. 08s claim to be hardier and went with the totally fake materials thatappear to soften up over time. Take your pick, comfort vs. durability. I would claim that they have no place outdoors and to keep them as a gym shoe which theystrive doing. 04s all the way.

flexing of both pairs at toebox. 08s on the left are hard like cardboard.. tough on the toes. 04s are just too soft

-as you can see, the chlorophyll or kermit the frog green never should have been.. Nikes latest 2008 Green Spark color is close to Nikes original green color


02 vs 08 air trainer 1 with mcenroe checkerboard:

-08s quality appears to be that of the 02s.. all synthetic upper including synthetic leather and synthetic suede. Darker NIKE on the strap is apparent from the2008 pair. It loses its "pop" with that imo.

nice update wally. definitely makes me want my at1's a lot sooner than i think i'll get them, but still holding off until i find a quality pair... thesc comparison really shows the quality drop on the suede too, recent's look fake when they're right beside each other.

its tough to really show off the quality here but I gave it a shot in this photo taken a few years ago.
OGs on the right have that felt like texture to the upper. The synthetic nature of the 04 retros give it a flat look.

-shape is laughable. the OGs that ive worn since that photo have been worn about 5 times. The same amount of time as the retros shown in the above photo. Nobanana boat shape taking form on the worn OGs.. ill get some updated photos of that. I think its important to inform and ask for better from Nike.

100% for sure they will crumble. Strictly for display sir. Wouldnt want to even give you any hope they would last a wear.

supposedly a fall 09 release.

interesting thing is their not exclusively SB's anymore.

so they'll be joining Nike's rooster too, which is a good thing imo.

Nike SB had the shoe for near on two years and couldn't muster a decent colourway or even an OG.

hopefully we get some OG retros in 2010.

Wally - as for the Air Goth you posted I actually have those in size 11, white/grey/white

they fit TIGHT in the toebox but the grip (tennis outsole) issick... I hardly wear them because of the discomfort... Now that I think of it the shoe tongue has the Mcenroe checkered flag design on the tongue...
