The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon already have what is called awesome performance, thanks to its supercharged 6.2L V8 which makes the caddy owned a remarkable output of 556HP. But the guys from Hennessey Performance might have not satisfied with the stock version's performance, then they offer an upgrade kit for the sport wagon which promises an uplift output to 658HP. For those of you who want a more-power for your sport caddy-wagon, this might suits for you. Well, let's see what the Houston tuner has done, here.

Under the bonnet, the supercharged 6.2L V8 received an optimized 6-Speed Automatic transmission, HPE cold air induction system, supercharger pulley and snout upgrade, stainless steel long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters, stainless steel mid pipes, and intercooler heat exchanger upgrade. With those stuff, the Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon now has a remarkable an uplifted power from 556HP and 551 ft/lbs of torque to 658HP and 718 ft/lbs of torque, that's enough to beat a Porsche 911 Turbo in a drag race which you can see the video after the break. According to the tuner, their Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon sprints 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds, and to 1/4 mile in 11.7 sec at 122 mph.

Enough for the power-booster, Hennessey also did styling the sport wagon. Though at this spot the tuner just did a little think -- which you can see the vehicle till looks same with the stock version -- such as the adding black-chrome aftermarket wheels for the outside of vehicle, embroidered headrests, premium floor mats, and a serial-numbered dash plaque for the interior changes, the Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon can be deceiving its opponent on the race. Just like the tuner's little-description for the vehicle; "it’s much more fun beating fast cars when yours looks slow."

That phantom quad exauhst... :wow: :pimp:.

never liked caddy's for myself, ive always been a Caprice/Imapala guy. however i did like how caddy's looked though, especially the 87- mid 90's Brougham.

Thanks man, so whats the general consensus on Cateras?

lol The Cadillac Wallet or the "Wallet sized Caddy".

I've heard so many horror stories about old caddies. Once they start breaking, they keep breaking.

On the other hand, I'm feeling the hell out of these new gen Cadillacs. I'd push the wheel off the wagon. :pimp:.

Lol dont really know too much about the "wallet size caddy" but I love that name ! I did date a chic in HS that had a Catera, all I really know is they used an Opel body and a non turbo-SAAB engine. She always said when modified they can actually be very fast... talk about sleeper. Ive heard reliability is pretty poor, but the only one I had experirence with never left me anywhere stranded.

Most of the horror storys you hear are probably from Northstar guys that abuse/neglect their cars. The N* was specifically designed to need almost Zero maintenance until 100k miles... trouble is alot of people dont know this and buy a car with 100k + thinking its been serviced at a regular 60-70k interval and good to go for another 70k but in reality without a proper tuneup the car is probably on its last legs.

Also... Shady mechanics LOVE these cars ! I know a number of mechanics that own N*s and take failing parts off of their own car and swap it with a customers good part just to have the customer return to the same shop and pay for a repair they didnt need before they came in the first time. This is even more common for BMW owners. Good rule of thumb is if you keep getting one item fixed and have another problem immediatly afterwards DO NOT return to that shop. If a shop IDs you as the kind of person with money that will just keep shelling out cash for repairs they wont ever stop trying to take advantage.

Also... Most mechanics estimate prices based on cost of parts and the number of hours the manufacturer suggests the job might take. Most mechanics can do these jobs in half the time but wont ever tell you this and still charge you the book price of the "Manufacturers suggested estimate". Due to this shady tactic a N* headgasket repair can range anywhere from $800 - 4 grand depending on where you get it fixed.

I find it hillarous and odd that these cars have a less than great reputation here in the US but in Europe they are praised by civilians and mechanics alike. Even Great Britians own Jeremy Clarkson couldnt find much negative to say about them.

I have a DTS with a few cosmetic changes, but nothing too wild. Also, had a Catera ~10 years ago in HS.

Soooo I found a 97 Deville with 87k for $3500 (talked him down to $3100)
And I found a 98 with 43k for $4300

My only concern with the 98 model is that at that point the car hasnt dealt with any of the major issues that Devilles usually deal with, where as the 97 has already had the head gasket problem repaired

^ Go for the 87k car that has already had the fix.

Super low mileage Northstars actually tend to have the most issues due to neglect and carbon buildup. Out of all the N*s I have experiancewith my 95 with only 40k has given me the most trouble. The trouble with most very low mileage cars isnt the miles but the age, at 15+ years old seals start to fail, belts dry out, parts start to oxidize, and electrical bugs and shorts start to happen due to sheer age regardless of miles. While some owners definitely do maintain their super low mileage very well, most do not and its usually a better choice to look for a car with a few more miles that has already has some costly repairs done.

Oddly enough this is one engine that LOVES to be used to its full potential. The N* loves WOT runs, as they clean out carbon buildup out of the combustion chamber. Low mileage cars that putz around town never breaking 40mph are very susceptible to carbon buildup that over time can wreak havoc on your cars engine.

Are the Devilles your looking at Base models (275 hp) or "concours"(300 hp) models ? The easiest way to tell is by looking at the logo placement on the front end. A standard deville will have a blank grille with the classic Cadillac Wreath hood ornament while a Concours will have a cadillac badge molded into the front grille.

Nah they are base models.

And you're incredibly knowledgeable, reading your posts helped me kick some knowledge to the seller :smokin Are you a mechanic, or just an enthusiast

Stay far away from Cateras. They are notoriously bad cars. I used to have a CTS. I have an Expedition now but when I'm done with this then I will get an Escalade. I love Caddys.

lol thx...Heavy GM enthusiast... Just a backyard mechanic... No formal training but I know my way around certian makes/models pretty well and the N* caddies are at the top of the list. One of the great things about these cars at this point in time there are tons of owners that dont know or simply dont appreciate what they have so you cand find some real steals out there. Also kinda a double edged sword because lots of people blow a HG and send the car right to the Junkyard wich is good because it can make repairs DUMB CHEAP if you can find what you need from a low mileage car in the yard but I worry about what the future holds in terms of parts being availble since so few people see the value in these cars and just throw them out.

As for concours/base models. Base models are actually better for city driving, the 275hp variant was designed for high torque at low RPM while the 300hp versions were designed to pull like nobody biz in the midrange to top end. In the city my ETC feels much more sluggish than my standard Eldo even though the ETC is actually faster on a stretch.

Yeah, I remembered hearing that bout Cateras, but I wasnt sure if it was accurate or not

cop an old school.. candy paint w/ some swangas / or 24s... make my impala strictly for getting around and the caddy for weekends and yamb escortation purposes.

I still want a DTS, I heard they fixed the head gasket issue around 04-05. Coke white with vogues. I used to drive a white 01 for one of my old jobs and it was like driving sitting on a couch, but they still got UP

Cateras are crap, my cousin had one, it stayed in the shop.

Quick question, On the late 90s devilles does the trunk pull down have a delay between when the trunk latches and starts pulling down? Thanks

I have a 97 4.6 Northstar in my Deville, and I was wondering if im ok putting regular unleaded in it
