I remember going to Finley Park growing up. I really remember that water fall. Cool place. I miss SC. Nice pics.

If Nikon just bumped up the framerate, they could have actually had an overwhelming advantage over the Canon 60D. Even Nikon having less pixels helps them out with it's new sensor and should shoot better in low light conditions. Just like the Canon 7D did to the Nikon D300s, this was a great leap as far as mid-range cameras are concerned.

The 7000D already has an 'overwhelming advantage' over the 60D. Based on specs alone the Canon 60D is crap compared to the new D7000. A pro-AF with 39 points, weather sealing, more fps, 100% viewfinder, dual card slots, better higher iso, and all for the nearly the same price... These are pro-like features and upgrades in a consumer priced camera. What are the advantages of the 60D over the D7000? A slight megapixel and a useless swivel?

Go to POTN (http://photography-on-the...php?t=925975&page=4) and you will see how many Canon users are complaining and jumping ship after this announcement... And you are worried about framerate and saying that the Canon and D7000 is similar? It's not even a fair comparison based on specs and features alone...

Seems like the D7000 competes with the 7D instead. Canons XXD line hasn't been anything speacial for a while anyways... (50D was pretty disappointing "upgrade" from a 40D) I still think the 7D is one of the best cameras out.

Anyways... this is probably the first non-automotive shot I've taken in a long time. Need to get back into shooting everything and anything.

Well.....I just meant Canon cameras in general and not just the 60D. Most the people I know have Mark 2's and 7D's and they aren't jumping to nothing. 60D just came out so the only people that might be jumping ship are people that own older Canons (40D & 50D) or even the T1 or T2i series. I really don't see the D7000 as a ball breaker. I think if Canon shooters want to upgrade, they might as well get the 7D. The 7D body alone is selling for $1500 and it would be such a better buy considering Canon owners have invested in Canon lenses.

Anyways...I am not crapping on the D7000. I think it is a great camera but only for people that are upgrading from entry level cameras or older midrange ones. I have a D90 and I just don't see this cameras as a camera to upgrade too. I might as well either wait for the Nikon D300s replacement (not going to happen for another 2 years or so) or wait next year for the D700 full frame replacement.

And Nikon's framerate issue is a big deal for me and a lot of consumers. I am pro video as well as taking pics. I just don't understand why Nikon doesn't bump up the framerates considering the Mark 2 did it like 2 years back and now all newer Canon cameras possess this. It's not like it's new technology when eventually Nikon will bump it up in the long run anyways.

Canon has the DSLR video on lock for now. It's gonna take Nikon a while to catch up, and even then, it's not like Canon's tech won't improve as well.

So I picked up a D3000 for my first camera. I'll be takin' some pictures this weekend but I already know I'll need a ton of help so I'll be in here a lot. Or if anyone has any other forums that they visit that are helpful for beginners?

Any info/help is appreciated!

Pre-ordered my D7000 yesterday! I'm selling my D5000 to a friend of mine. I can't wait to get it! I got 5% off of the retail price... Gotta love military discounts.

Need help from knowledgeable Nikon users. I shoot with a D60... usually @ 100 ISO. Had a couple questions on how I can improve a photo.

Can someone explain the hand blur on the photo? Is it a slow camera issue? SD card issue?

My second question is the microdot on the subject's thigh. I was told it was an ISO issue but never had an explanation.

Yo man, I follow you on tumblr lol
To answer your question, I checked out your EXIF data for the first one, her arm was definitely moving + 1/30 on a 1.8 is slow enough to catch that blur.

I'm not that sure about the second one but check out the mirrors, that could be dust. Or just Spot Heal that dot off

Its a dead pixel you got there... get in touch with the store where you bought the camera and ask them to repair/replace it

So her arm was still and it came out with motion blur? That is really. How could a camera manipulate that.

I had that micro dot issue as well and I think it just went away. Dust on the sensor? I would like to know as well.

Nice pics though and cute girl. I really wish I knew or practiced shooting portraits or glamor shots.

Went to Warren G concert and couldn't shoot for nothing. I blame it on the alcohol and I wasn't really motivated to move around.
