The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I'm glad I didn't buy a Pro... but new consoles by themselves do nothing for me. I will save my excitement until I see some actual footage of next gen games.

So how much are you guys willing to pay for PS5? I’m hoping it’s $399 again but I’m mentally prepared for a $499 tag.

SSD that's not in PC's
AMD Zen2 CPU and Navi GPU.
Yea I'm thinking 499 but 399 won't suprise me either.

I think their relationship with AMD is very good so they can get a good price on since they know PlayStations average nearly 100 million units per gen.
It's that SSD tech that I think might bump things up.

It's not much but I hope they improve the remotes battery, the Switch Pro Controller seems like it last forever compared to my PS4 controllers

What you think about the lights on the PS4 controller? I don't think we need those on the PS5 controller

They seem unnecessary to me but maybe they're needed for VR or something? I'm just speculating since I've never tried PSVR but yeah the lights seem to just kill the battery even if I have it on the lowest brightness.

I have PSVR... I haven't used the lights for anything

DS4's battery drain could also be because of it's bluetooth setup.
It has a high polling rate which gives you lower input lag compared to other pads.

They definitely need to improve the life for the PS5 though but for pads I would still take better tech over battery life since I'm not far off a charger when playing.

It might stick around for backwards compatibility since we know PSVR will work on PS5.
Sony might still use light for tracking in VR in addition to other new stuff.

What’s that whole pad on the front of the PS4 controller for anyway? I never used it when
It's a depressible touchpad. Many games used it well actually and it was meant to be a workaround for a mouse when playing strategy game that could've been ported from PC but I don't know if any game actually did that

Same with using it as a mouse on the web browser on the console but I don't know if this became a thing either.

(Personal opinion) I think there will be multiple tiers of the console. $399 base.

Was shocked to see this come out today. Someone must have gotten wind of an Xbox info dump coming soon. There’s still more info to come obviously this isn’t everything. The next piece of hardware from Sony still has some aces up its sleeve.

i'm ready for ps5 now. hopefully the price isnt OD. but i'm copping regardless and they know it.

Price should be od, can't be having weak systems

But alas, it'll be 399, the number they've seemed to have fallen in love with
