Also been enjoying the Panda the past few days. Under no circumstances do I think it's worth anywhere near what they are going for on the grey market, and frankly it makes me a bit sick to think I paid comparable money for my white gold Daytona, but it is what it is and I do think the stainless Daytona (and in particular the Panda) is a cornerstone of any collection...

i really like omegas rose gold maybe even more than rolex' everose but its still crazy to me that omega is still sticking to the 50hr power reserve, its especially annoying for a handwound watch

I feel like this is a step in the right direction for a mass produced "luxury" version of the speedmaster. You get the polished hands, indices, stepped dial which are welcome improvements.
I just can't understand why they can't make the movements thinner? Yes it's a chronograph but it's also hand wound so they should be able to thin the case and increase power reserve.

picked up my first real timepiece, Orient Kamasu. I threw a StrapCode strap on it because it’s custom made for this model and it turned out great. I plan to wear it like this daily, and then have the metal straps on for special events and stuff

Honestly maybe something a little cheaper like another Orient watch, like a bambino. after that probably something like a a Citizen Fujitsubo or Tissot Seastar , something still under $1k but higher end than the Kamasu. my plan for the higher end watch is to get it when i graduate and get my electric journeyman’s (still years down the road but it’s a goal)

It's always good to hear the perspective of someone starting out. It seems like you've got some really good watches in mind.
I've been into watches in varying degrees for about 30 years now and your taste what you like can vary so much. At one point I used to wear this....
