I built my own way back in the day. It's not really a gaming, though I guess I could. I mostly just do normal user stuff on it. I really just did it to say I did. I got an ATX tower though which was a mistake, $%@$ is like 3ft tall.

But Macs to me just aren't worth it. The viruses argument is worthless as well. You don't even need to be a pro, but just novice level and should be able to avoid catching viruses no matter how many p2p and porns you download. Just download AVG which is free or MalwareBytes.

I agree about a lot of PC laptops being made of cheap plastic, but that's all relative to the pricepoint they were made to come in at and the specs which directly goes back to the pricepoint. I have a Samsung that is made of brushed aliminum and not plastic with an i5 and Nvidia Geforce Cuda GPU and 4gb of ddr3.

The i5 Macbook costs 1800$ and you only get 2gb

4gb but you're right ... i just told a friend of mine to get a Samsung Qx laptop ... $800 - 640gb ram faster i5 processor etc ... it's all good ...

just close this thread ... either we compare operating systems or we compare apple to HP / Dell / Toshiba ... etc.
