So today I went to AC and gambled for the first time, I didn't want to bet too much.  So I played about $70 on the blackjack table, I was up to about $125, where I should've stopped and cashed out, but I just kept on going.  So I ended up losing it all, I feel so bad and dumb for keep playing and I had no control on when to stop.  So my question is do you guys have any tips for me when I go next time and play?  I know I should've set a goal, it was my first mistake for not setting one.  Are there any other tips you guys can pass on?

stop thinking shoulda, coulda, woulda stopped. what justification do you have for stopping at 125 at the time? theres no way you could predict what happens in future hands and to think you can control it is a mistake.

Split your aces, take a risk every once in a while (bet a bit more money than your normal hand), don't drink too much where you can't compute the cards within a half-second and surround yourself with competent players who won't eat up your cards.

To me, a $50 come up is no reason to stop playing. Like someone says, play big or go home. If you think that is losing a lot, then you shouldn't be gambling at all.

LOL everyone in this room is talking out of their !+*.

I play blackjack, and take it very seriously.

If you really want to play and have any "chance" at winning aside from pure luck your first step is as follows.

1. Go to google and search for a "blackjack basic strategy chart"

2. Memorize this chart. Seriously, knowing perfect "Basic Strategy" cuts the houses edge down to 1/2 of 1 %. You can even go to the gift shop at the Casino and buy a small one to look at when you are at the table. It is easier and faster if you just memorize it.

3. If you want even more knowledge on the game go out and buy this book, or get it on amazon its 11 dollars. "Blackjack Bluebook II" by Fred Renzey. It's the simplest blackjack strategies to help you win.

4. If you want to go further than that learn how to count cards, if you are serious about that PM me and I'll help you with that process.

^ listen to him. the basic strategy chart is the biggest thing you can do to help you win.

also, read up on the Martingale betting system. basically, after you lose a hand, you double up the bid to recoup what you lost. if you lose THAT bid, you increase your bid to recoup the losses. and continue until you win, after which you return to your original bid.

technically, it doesn't work. but if your bids (say $5) are just a small percentage of how much you have available (say $500), then eventually you'll be able to recoup your losses.
