TRADE RUMOR: Rondo and Ray Ray for Amare, Barbosa, 14th pick

Bad deal for both teams.

Celtics would lose a top 10 pg and top 5 shooter who work very well in their system and the Suns would lose a top 5 pf, a valuable scorer off the bench and a draft pick.

Well, Sarver might end up selling the pick but still, not a good trade.

However, the Shaq to Chicago for Deng and someone else rumor is intriguing...
I would rather talk about this rumor...I never heard it before tonight, but this would help the Bulls in the short term only. Didn't Shaq sayhe was gonna retire after this season? It makes sense to have money to play with in 2010.

@ anyone taking this rumor seriously.

There is no way they are going to trade Rondo...and especially for another PF.

Sometimes I think that NBA teams do trades just for the sake of doing a trade and making things interesting, with no thought to whether it actually betterstheir standing. "Might as well try it eh?...Le'ts see what happens."

Boston trading Rondo is like Chicago trading Rose. It's just not going to happen, Rondo is their future

Rondo has crazy potential.
His potential is very limited by his weak jumpshot, until he can develop something, then he will always be a 2nd tier PG.

He's lucky the attention isn't on him, there's two players on the court that are better than him, three when KG is healthy.

out of the 5 point guards in the atlantic division rajon rondo, jose calderon, andre miller, chris duhon, and devin harris

i would put rondo 4th on that list u put any one of the pg's besides duhon and the celtics would be just as good or better
when u play with players lke jesus,PP34 and garnet then its easier to play alongside them

People are acting like Rondo can't work on his jumper. How old is dude?

Rondo as is is better than 87.5% of the PG's in the league.

I also lost a ton of respect for Rondo after him playing like a straight-up punk against Chicago, but that's the past.

He may, Tony Parker did.

But Rondo isn't Tony Parker. Not yet anyways.

But in my opinion, you're bad until you're good.

It's sorta like Devin Harris. A lot of people didn't like the trade because you just don't trade young pg's with potential. Devin Harris hasreached that potential now, and Cuban has to be a BIT salty on that one.

Again, as is, Rondo is better than more than half the league. He has and does everything you could ask for in a point, minus a consistent j. You just don'ttrade a guy like Rondo. For what?

Ohh and there was also that playoff performance he did not too long ago..

But it's not like the Celtic's would be getting a bunch of expirings in return, or an old vet, you're getting a player who is capableof being a franchise player, and be real, you KNOW he'll get max money where ever he goes.

Delete this and let one of the regulars make the Official Offseason post so we don't have rumor threads all summer...even though the season isn't overwe won't have to suffer through threads like these. And, we'll have guaranteed updates if it's by a regular...
