Don't worry man just stay positive and start looking into the disease, and it's treatment options.

Yes, 22 is very young. But, leukemias and lymphomas are cancers that have been shown to have higher incident rates in the young compared to other cancers, which usually are diseases of the old.

Just wait for the biopsy results and until then you can do your own research on the disease.

He didn't tell you any other info? I mean I guess you will have to wait until the biopsy and blood results, but if you can provide any other info that would be helpful to us so that we can try to give you advice.

The PET scan will provide them with a lot of useful information about the exact diagnosis. Providing them with images, structural information, stage, and the tumor's affects on near by tissues. It will also be used to assess if you have any other solid tumors in your body. Since it is a lymphoma, static lymphoid tumors can metastasize and arise throughout the body, from circulating cancerous blood cells. So this will be a good diagnostic tool for them to do on you.

Edit: When I say throughout the body I mean they usually stay in the lymphatic tissues, so like at a lymph node in your lung may be and it might spread to another connecting node. Metastasis might be the wrong term for me to use. Trying to clarify so that you wont worry. Cause you shouldn't. If anything that information is actually a good thing.

Edit: I can't really comment on anything further without knowing more information.

Do you mean test for HIV with the blood work? They will also assess other information from the blood work too, about the cancer, etc...

Keep your head up man. Things will turn out for the best.

Edit: I'll try to clarify things for you if you don't understand what the doc is saying, and I will give you advice when it comes to possible treatment options, but I will NOT comment on anything related to a prognosis, or anything remotely related.

it will work out OP, you will be in my and many prayers of others. It sounds like it was detected early enough to treat. Don't stress yourself out, just let the insurance and doctors take care of it.

Make sure you come back and give us updates when you can. I know my grandfather loved to talk through his battle. #NTpower

Very sorry to hear about the update
