Everyone goes into combat just depends on your rank and job if you step across the line.
They be shooting rockets over the line on base so it's not you completely safe in a building

No, the only thing that can keep you out of combat is disability, or religion, possibly a death in immediate family

On my drill weekend I don't do **** but walk around my unit motorpool or sit an chill with my supply SGT. So my drill weekends I make 380 which is not ****, but hell those days I really don't do ****. Plus I leave early around 1Pm. Another perk is that we get a lot of discounts at stores and restaurants. Example Footlocker 20% off. Oh yeah I also get me and my dependents free tickets to Bush Garden or Sea world once a year.

I've encountered more military people that say it's s farce like Brolic Scholar than I have that try to shame me for not worshipping them because they served.

I personally didn't serve to protect you.
I served for my own selfish interest and goals that have now put me where I want to be in life career wise.
Uncle Sam and I had a two way deal.

The only vets worth thanking are the WW2, Korean and Vietnam soldiers but that's just me. I feel like the soldiers of those wars truly had it rough not only in combat but also when they returned (Vietman especially).
