Why doesn't McDonalds serve breakfast all day?

I guess they are trying to keep it exclusive, but I think they would get more business overall...

Yea I could go for a mcgriddle right now. Haven't had McDonald's breakfast in at least year but I remember asking myself this same question.

Makes you want to buy more because you know later on it won't be available? Right?
They keep the demand at a level that is manageable for them. I assume that they will have to double up on the ingredients they use in order to make breakfast and lunch.
Also when you set a specific time for something especially something to be sold at ungodly hours in the morning.
I assume that the people that are getting up to buy MCDonald's breakfast are going to buy whatever is on that list.
Also Breakfast is when most ppl are hungry.
These are my assumptions.

It's a joke. Adam Carolla talks about this all the time. He worked at Mickey D's back when he was poor and he said they literally don't switch out anything, they just cut it off (and often about 15 minutes earlier than they advertise). They could cook anything on their menu at any time of day. Jack in the Box got it right years ago by going to 24 hours drive thrus and 24 hour breakfast.

now that burger king and jack in the box have sausage mcmuffin type sandwiches its a wrap for mcds. I havent been there in almost a year to buy food for myself, Ill take my daughter and get her a happy meal and let her play but other than that I dont mess w/em.
