killed a 12 pack yesterday...

Hipster obsession is much worse than whatever a hipster actually is. There has been far too much time and energy dedicated to identifying and ridiculing this made up subculture. What is used to describe a hipster is so broad that you can damn near paint anyone in the age bracket of 20-30 as a hipster. You like indie music? HIPSTER. Cheap beer? HIPSTER. Riding bicycles? HIPSTER. Facial hair? HIPSTER. It's absurd.

hypebeast annoy me more then hipsters....

they're both at da ends of a lifespan of a ________

a hipster will discover something or adopt something abandoned, or know something...which give em a feeling of superiority...they thrive on manufactured exclusivity

soon as they lose that edge they lose their powers...

hypebeast are da last wagon of a trend before it gets played out..kinda like a star shines it brightest before it flames out and dies...they always playing catch up

so their change wit da winds..lames

da trick to fend off these subcultures is just be knowledgeable with whateva you like to do..a hipster can't tell a REAL rap fan about wu-tang, they can fool their non hipster

friends, but to someone who knows they stuff they frauds. a hypebeast would only know what da LATEST rap act is, so they would act like OFWGKTA is da OG powerful rap collective.

and tomorrow they'll jump on kirko bangz wit snapbacks and star tattoos...no morals whatsoever, lames.

not much you can do but be yourself.
This is all everyone should do though. i never understood concerning oneself with another human especially on trivial issues like their clothing and music tastes. I hate the term hipster, hypebeast, d rider etc because they give off extreme pretentiousness. It's now seen as lame to like the same thing as someone eles. :smh:

i could always respect people who don't trend hop

I **** ya'll not I could be sitting around some of the homies and they could be looking on some random rapper's instagram [or whatever attention ****** use these days] and just flat out say that they're gonna start dressing like
said rapper or attention *****. I just hit them with stone faces cause they can't think for themselves.

Honestly ,what's wrong with them liking someone's style and incorporating into their own?

you actually make sense. Thumbs up

...So?

Is it "mainstream" or "your-stream?"

You're gonna be, what you're gonna be regardless.

Would you rather the rest of the world look like you?

This is the real travesty though.

Its way too easy to make fun of a hipster and trying to distance yourself from what you perceive one to be. Its basically a circle-jerk of "oh look how weird those people are! Aren't they just so different and ironic?"

Ok...and? Whats the point?

Might as well just call it what it is: Mostly white folks who embrace irony and pretending to be members of a pseudo-art crowd AND the other people who devote their time to making sure that "hipsters" aren't appreciated because they're not "real" enough.

Oh but heres the fun part: Who decides how "real" something is?

Identifying your own bias and the limit of your perception is an exercise that the OP and those who agree with him could benefit from.  What do they get out of making fun of hipsters?

OP just might as well say that he needs to reinforce what or who he thinks he is by making sure he eliminates his relation to hipsters.

Basically this: "Who am I? Well I'm NOT a hipster, i'll tell you that!"

Do I think individuality is important? Sure...in as much as it reinforces the ability to assert oneself in a realm where you feel like you need to break the mold, but I think its pretty harmless to assert that "trend hoppers" are intrinsically devoid of a sense of individuality in and of themselves.

However on the topic of "culture" then who cares? I think its funny because CLEARLY there is a reason why OP has his own circle of friends, whether or not he realizes it.

It's a lot wrong when they was clowning the **** and then hoping onto it once it's popular. It shows that they have no mind of their own for one, for two it is just lame as all hell dude.

There's no incorporating to it they just try and copy the style to the best of their ability.
