Let me know when you start seeing math. Math is also a human construct used to describe the world around us that cannot be proven to be real.
um you can seeing that math is a proven process that produces visuals results... If I have 2 apples and add 2 more apples...yes I can see 4 apples.

its quite pompous and arrogant in a sense.... your basically saying I know all and everything... and if its something I don't know/understand then its impossible that it could be as simple as you don't have a understand/or lack of knowledge...or it is beyond your comprehension...it must be a god of some sort.

An atheist church is like a basketball camp without the basketball.
wouldn't that be more like regular church...aka something that isn't there...hasn't been there yet ppl pretend and think it exist.

Church is more like this...there is no ball, u cant see a ball, but u BELIEVE that a ball exist that only u and a select few ppl see, and even then between all of u don't see the ball looking the same.

I used a crappy analogy. I meant without the basketball as in camp of nothing, not the actual ball lol. But you get what I mean. Church of nothing is nothing. You wouldnt need it. And im lost, I dont know whos side youre on right now. I thought you were a theist but your last responses got me confused lol. Also too lazy to read up and figure it out.

Prove that 4 exists and our definition of what 4 represents is correct.
Disregarding that what've you just typed is the dumbest thing I've read in weeks.  That reply is slightly reminiscent of this:

*fun fact: the person calling in is allegedly Alex Jones using his normal voice.*

Do you celebrate chrismas? (Hang a tree/ any traditions thereof ) If so, what is uour perspective of the holiday?

I missed this thread previously and only read through this page, but holy hell.....are some of you guys really arguing against the existence of certain numbers? Yes Arabic numeration is a human invention, that doesn't mean the concept isn't a real thing

You dumb "smart" people I swear

I celebrate Christmas because the rest of my family is loosely religious (they don't claim a sect/denomination or go to church, but they believe in God).

Aside from the stress of the shopping, traffic, and commercialization of it, I really enjoy the holidays.  Who doesn't like an excuse to relax, eat good food, drink, and exchange gifts with the people you care about?

I always get a great kick out of the "War on Christmas" segments that Fox News airs and the people that wear the "YOU CAN SAY 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' TO ME" pins when they're out shopping during the holiday season.  It baffles me how someone saying "happy holidays" could offend or upset them.  Talk about first-world problems.

...but I'm having a hard time understanding where you're getting at asking atheists this question.  Christmas was initially a pagan holiday that was commandeered by Christians.

Why is that when religion and or spirituality are brought up the discussion is often limited to monotheistic belief systems?

What if there are actually multiple higher-powers? Are there any NT members that believe in polytheism?

Thanks for your answer. You cant see what Im getting at because I dont really have an agenda that involves you/atheists. It wasnt a, "... but Jesus" trap question. I just have a hard time seeing why believers celebrate it to begin with, given its roots, and to see the atheist perspective on the day.

Just gonna drop my personal thoughts.

As an early teen I was an atheist. 13-16

In my late teens I became agnostic.17-21

presently I'm 21 and I would consider myself Apatheistic and irreligious. The existence or lack there of, of a god or a high power does not influence my thinking, actions and movement. It just doesn't matter to me.

I think it's important to note that Theism is not Religion.  Theism is the existence in a deity.  Religion are the traditions and physical/worldly aspects that surround the belief in that deity.

TLDR: Whether or not God exists doesn't matter to me and I dislike organized religion.

Is EVERY natural disaster a sign from God?

It's hard to have religious conversations on forums because different denominations teach different things, even within Christianity.

But to answer your question from what I've learned no, every natural disaster isn't. The Bible doesn’t teach that God is behind the natural disasters we see today.

God’s judgments (things directly caused by him) as described in the Bible are quite different from natural disasters.

God is selective. He reads the hearts of individuals and destroys only those he deems wicked. God sends warnings first, thereby giving those who listen to him the opportunity to escape.
Natural disasters, on the other hand, strike with little or no warning, and they kill and maim indiscriminately. To some extent, mankind has made such disasters worse by damaging the natural environment and by building in areas prone to earthquakes, floods, and extreme weather. The Bible does say that Ecclesiastes 9:11 that "time and unexpected events" overtake ppl.

WHY?

Eat Food
Drink
Have Fun
With Loves Ones

THAT is why

While good in intent, Christmas is a patchwork of pagan rituals and traditions that is supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus [Son of God/ God]. Believers aren't supposed to do what the world does, in the name of/ honoring God. They are to be set apart.

"You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods." Deuteronomy 12:31

My ONLY problem with Atheism is that they refuse to believe that there is a higher power in the universe with higher abilities.

They take science verbatim like Christians do the bible, and now modern science is looking stupid with all of the discoveries of planets in the goldilocks zones, water on mars, and DNA mineral make-up found in comets and asteroids. These are things that have been presented to science for decades, and even with legitimate evidence/mathematical probabilities.

Believe what you will. :smokin

Well science is built on theories and hypotheses aka this system of questions seem to reveal much more about us/our environment without necessarily suggesting one infallible answer. That said, as technologies advance its just in its nature that something tested hundreds of years ago might not hold up to the extent that we can test/scrutinize today. I'd consider it one of the cornerstones of the scientific/tech communities as this promotes innovation in a big way.
