Video Game Dudes: Did Yall Have A Neo-Geo Dude In Your Neighborhood?

No it wasn't. Dude It was an ARCADE SYSTEM in your home! It came out in 1990, back then no other console was ******* with it.
it was 24bit... everything else was 16-20 thats not like some technologically leaps and bounds... It had more to do with them basically selling the whole "arcade" experience at home with its game lineup and the arcade like controllers etc... And considering video gaming wasnt at the levels it is now...ppl werent trying to spend damn near a grand to play video games..thus why that thing fell hard..

^ same boat

had everything except the NEO GEO ... my mom was not bout that life ... i remember spazzing out like that **** was from the future and i needed it to survive

you're one of the only people I've seen that actually had a Sega CD... that may have been the biggest swindle in gaming history... what was the default game called, like SewerShark or some **** like that? I had the "Cowboys vs 49ers" game which should have been illegal to sell... who the **** wants to play a game where all you do is call plays and watch some old *** clip from the 80's over and over again... smh
lol the sega cd....that shame/scam was the bernie madoff of video games... Like i said early the ish had a kris kross video game... And half the games like you said where on some interactive somewhat low res videos...

I forgot who maybe a cuz or someone had one and i remember us all going over and watching for like 10-15 minutes on some man ets go back outside and play ball..

Sega should have sent refunds bailout checks and letters of apologizes to all the victims who purchase that and the sega saturn...

These joints are still going for $300+ on eBay. I want one to play KOF 95 the way its supposed to be played

I'm not arguing that, im simply saying the actual cost for the games was very expensive because they weren't ports, they were literally the same game you would play in the arcade. Take super street fighter 2 on genesis and snes for example, they were not arcade perfect and had to cut corners to make it work on home consoles because they weren't powerful enough. There was even slowdown in certain situations. Especially when you look at street fighter alpha for the snes.

MK II on the Genesis compared to the Arcade version is laughable at best.
same with killer instinct but it was still pretty damn good for what it was. and the drop off for most ppl werent warrant paying 3 4 times the price.. Which reminds me of that one game in the arcade that was sorta like mk it was called something killers... i remember one dude having a chainsaw and could cut ppl arms off... it had graphics and side scrolling like streetfighter but was bloody and more gory then mk...

hell i had intellivision colecovision and pong....

but

were tmf truth
Man! I remember these. They usually only lasted like a week though. They would just get broken some how.

I was one of the few with both a Sega Saturn and Game Gear. Only had 1 game on the Saturn though. Vitrua Fighter. Closes I've ever gotten to a Neo Geo was at the arcade.
Didnt the Saturn come with Panzer Dragon ? Or was that the game they always had to play as a demo at Toys r us?

Talking about Time Killers ? Game was awful

but a cpu was and still is a "must have" quintessential part of just about everyone lives... Its like gas etc... And when you look at the neo geo it wasnt even superior in terms of gameplay/graphics over its competition... I mean i get what your saying but neo geo today would be like xbox one costing 500 and ps4 costing like 800/900 bucks.. in comparison to snes and genesis... I mean neo geo was 24 bit granted but that isnt that much superior to snes/genesis 16bit systems.. not to cost 3 times as much
I get what you are saying. But the Neo Geo was just like bringing the arcade to your house. Arcades graphics were always superior to the graphics at home. So mad people would go to arcades for that and because it was a million times funner than  playing at home. But I would say the neo geo was lway superior even the games were top level. To reduce the arcade experience to the living room at that time justified the higher price and the tech may have cost more I don't know how that works

Awfully AWESOME!!!

I used to swear that was the coolest game ever.

Back then, cuttin arms off was the business.

ish would be crazy now they had a 800 and a 600 dollar models... 100-150 for games... 80 bucks for a controller. Ppl wouldnt even pay that now for a system and games etc... ish was uncalled for and ridiculous 20+ yrs ago

I'm pretty sure you couldn't even buy that version when it first came out.

Neo Geo MVS was that arcade thing, then they dropped the AES which was a home console.

That's what im talking about, the AES. I was wrong on the year, the AES came out in 1991.

Only system more illusive than the bro ego was the jaguar.

Now that was rare

One of my friends had 2 older brothers that worked at a gaming store and they had Jaguar. They had pretty much every system ever made, except the Neo Geo. I don't think I ever saw one outside the arcade version.
