 i know this is our 'home' but that's only because our stolen ancestors procreated here.

I remember watching a video during a high school football tournament where it was u.s. Vs Canada. Some dude on the American team was pissed at halftime and crying talking about "we can't lose this on our soil, this is our country", him having that much passion for the country was kind of odd to me, considering he was black.

Black people quick to boycott a restaurant because the server had an attitude or some people looked at them funny, but remain in a country where we were never really welcomed.

Interesting.

The **** we gotta leave for? They the ones ****** up and we gotta go?

Nah playa I'll gladly keep fighting

so now its straight eff da flag? hope none of ya ever gotta talk to a 9/11 1st responder in ya life...

What? If he's born in America then how isn't it his soil? Cause he's black? You all types of messy right now g

The same 1st responders that this country has failed to provide proper medical treatment and compensation for years and had to fight to finally get something?

I wonder which party was holding that up. Hmmm

Because I would hate for Ninja to be voting for their candidate this fall :rolleyes

I'd give thanks to every single first responder personally if I could. They did what they needed to and they ain't asking me to bow down to that fabric.

they also aint asking how u personally feel politically when they running in a crumbling building to save your life. you know why? because they pledged allegiance to a flag some of ya so quick to disrespect. :smh:

I've always been conflicted about the flag.

only within the last 5-10 years has the true extent of its historical significance become apparent, but I do wear stuff with the flag on it...to me it's a decoration, a pattern...like elephant print or the tiger stripes on the Bengals' shoulder pads. I like Brazil's flag too, it's not a political statement.

at the same time, I'd look like an ******* out here in some Confederate gear just because it's an eye-catching design from a strictly aesthetic point of view.

idk.

I'll wear it because there's no hiding that I'm culturally an American--I mean, look at all the English I just typed--but I am not down to die for my chain for the long list of obvious reasons.

as it relates to the thread, the flag itself isn't objectively "important," but the power it holds for the audience he's trying to reach is what gives the message weight...like an actor dropping an Oscar into the trash on TV as a protest. CK blew the dog whistle (at the request of a reporter, it's not like he held a press conference) and the marks came a-barkin'...good work from my angle.

When I say **** the flag I'm saying **** the flag and **** the falsehood of this 'American Dream' they sold to is. Got nothing to do with first responders during 9/11, but nice try shifting focus and attempting to shame people for something they didn't say.

I see a lot of you are taking your queues from Trump lately. Just power through. Doesn't matter whether you're right or wrong.

Yea it was a cute gesture and caused a big media reaction and dialogue (shouldnt be that serious IMO). But let me know when he stops accepting that NFL check. Then Ill take him seriously. Dude who said its like a facebook post is right. Cool you didn't stand for the anthem bro. You still cashing that check the white man gave you to put your body through hell just for their entertainment. You still making them waaaay more money than they give you. Black athletes could make a lot of noise if they didnt show up to work. Hell black entertainers in general. How is it that blacks pretty much dominate American sports culture and entertainment but don't own any of it?

Black Americans should come together like the Jews do and start owning they own ****. Imagine if all black athletes/entertainers came together and said f it lets start our own leagues/record labels/ production companies. And don't tell me Kaepernick has to put food on the table. My man has millions already. Way more than enough to quit playing in the NFL and invest his money in other things. To be honest black americans need a real leader. Obama could be that when he leaves office but he probably wont.

Anyway its complicated and I can go into it more with my own theories and opinions on the american negro but I digress.
