Anyway go to lifeprint.com, handspeak.com, or, aslpro.com and learn a few conversational things.
 Do the signs correctly and learn bad words just to avoid them. Getting cussed out is ASL is worse than being yelled at. Seriously.
If you can learn the alphabet you can fingerspell out whatever you want to say.
Don't absent-mindly ask her silly questions like if she knows how to read braille or leave her out of conversation just because you assume she wont get it. (The most hated phrase in the deaf community is "never mind")
Avoid offending her and you should be fine.
