Weds when I get to the city

So I got to the city early ...

Quick shot before I took a nap - too cold outside to take any good pics anyways ...

This look like crap - straight from the camera JPG with nothing done on it ..

^ good stuff man. You'll love the 17-55. Insanely sharp lens. Although personally, I think you should have saved up for a 70-200 f/4L as opposed to that55-250. Either way, I'm sure you'll be happy with your new gear. Now let's see some photos!

the 55-250 was an impulse buy .. I had bought it before I went to the store - but once I got there I was like well I'm not changing my mind! For now I defknow I'm not going to be doing to much outside shooting so that's a lens imma use randomly - Trust me some dude hit me up for a 70-200 f/2.8 IS for $1kand if it wasn't for my girl - I would of have bought it! I lost the biggest bargain but I saved up 1k.

that 55-250 was a Canon Refurb so pretty much new and when it comes to re-selling you know I can get at least $175-$200 for it - So I can just add that up fora better lens!

Although the website you recommended a while back POTN has many people supporting the nifty 250 and the shoots are oh so crisp!

Lastly - I'm a n00b all this girl and no skills what so ever and with my limited limited limited limited and one more time for good messures limited PSskills .. my pictures are going to continue looking like crap!

If I knew how to do anything in the Adobe lines these shots would of have been better ...

Don't look at it that way, don't rely on photoshop to enhance and make your pictures better 100% of the time. Think of it as i suck atphotoshop so let me do the best i can without it. I jsut got CS4 and i'm with you, i have no idea how to use it, i play with it here and there but i'mstill really confused on how to use it. My pictures came out fine before that, here and there i would use the very limited iphoto editing capabilities butthats about it. What i love about photography, it's something that takes years to master and even when you get good at it theres always something new tolearn. Also looking at your pictures above i don't see anything wrong with them.

^ haha...I did put a warning though.

Here's a recent pickup:

Sike! It's actually a Canon calender which came with...

...the Canon L6 neck strap which I picked up. It's the same strap that comes with the Canon 1Ds Mark III. It's rare and almost never sold by itself.

I am debating on whether I should get the Tokina Ultra-wide 11-16 f/2.8 or the fisheye 10-17... I opt to make good use of in night photography. I think I amgoing to sell my Canon 70-300 to buy it. I rarely ever use it nowadays.

^ What exactly are you planning to shoot? Fisheye lenses are a specialty and aren't meant to be used for everyday photos. For landscape, get the Tokina11-16. Note that if you're going to shoot mostly shots in the dark with long exposures, you're probably going to need a tripod. In this case, getting aslightly slower lens like the Sigma 10-20 could help you save some money. Again, it all depends on what you like to shoot. Don't just get a fisheye for the'cool' look of the extreme barrel distortion. The wow factor will only work with certain photos and could easily be lost if used repeatedly. If you dodecide to get a fisheye though, I suggest getting the EF 15mm f/2.8 for only a little bit more. Not only is it a better fisheye but it will also be usable ifyou ever decide to go full-frame. The true fisheye effect of the lens is maximized with a full-frame body anyway.

p.s. why when I upload .tif to Flickr does it always show darker?

Thanks for all of the help with the camera decision. My mom decided to get an SD1100 IS.
I'm about to purchase a 430ex II and was looking to get a diffuser, but I don't want to drop $50 on a Gary Fong diffuser. Does anyone know how well theSto-Fen OMEW Omni-Bounce Diffuser performs?

^ It's awesome. The Sto-fen Omni Bounce is a lot more portable than the Gary Fong. If portability isn't an issue, the Gary Fong is definitely worth ittoo.

i just got a canon rebel xs and here is a pic i just took that i think is pretty good but im just a beginner
