Try buying better socks to avoid it all together. Most Nike Dri-fit socks will not leave any fuzz balls.

I suggest you burn them, and if that does not solve your problem probably just throw them away because the sock fuzz is the first thing that people noticeabout you're shoes, I'm very sock fuzz consciuos

I sometimes use Sweater Stone from Eddie Bauer. It works well if you go slow and light.
