Tupac Shakur: The Most Interesting Man In The World (Long Read, But Worth It)

Fake what tho?

The notion of humans being complex and having more than one side to them always goes out the window when someone wants to talk down on Pac.

Naw it was out the window with Kanye and Plies too.

So for the people that dont believe he was a fake thug, what about him makes you believe?...Other than what he said.

I disagree. He isn't the only person people use the fake card on. People used it on Ross. They use it on Brother Plies. They used it on Will Smith in the mid 90s. People use it on Wayne. Pac isn't the only one. It is just his ONE extreme to the OTHER extreme is the most dynamic. So that is why he gets it the most

He was a child during that time doe.

So, under this logic, if youre brother was a gangster...you're automatically a gangster? No matter what you do?

I'm just gonna see myself out, dudes in here talking straight nonsense, boys really brought up plies

I should have known this was some troll **** when I saw DC was leading the charge.

Ya'll fellas have fun.

I like to think that the whole tough guy persona was a defense mechanism that he donned. Signing w/ Death Row and being around all of the activity associated w/ Suge and co. he probably felt like he had to portray that persona to protect himself; he definitely let it get bigger than him. Listening to do talk, you can be almost certain that he wasn't really comfortable in the position he was in but couldn't really let it be known or he be labeled a ***** and a coward.

Hell, from another angle, it could've been that he wanted to change things but felt that the only people they would listen to is someone like them.

So many layers and analysis that could go into Pac, I doubt the movie will touch on most of it. Straight Outta Compton was a long movie and still missed some key parts, can only imagine how low the Pac movie would have to be. Better off doing a Jacksons: An American Dream style miniseries or releasing it on Netflix.

Who has said anything remotely close to being trolling?

As if I am bring up arguments that aren't commonly said?

 Not even surprised. People love to claim somebody is fake w/o any real reasons.

The thing about Pac is he wasn't one of these dudes that was 100% all day "I'm a Thug I'll kill you" whatever. If somebody is faking they would keep that up all the time.

Like I said before Pac had different sides to him and he put it in his music. He had Brenda's Got A Baby, Dear Mama, Keep Ya Head Up, White Man's World, Life Goes On etc.

The reasons y'all give for him being fake just don't add up. Sound like y'all just buying into the perception the media tried to push. The media wanted to push that he was just this "Thug" and "Gangster".

Yep it was the media tricking me into thinking he had a thug life tattoo on his stomach, and assaulted a man in a Las Vegas casino.

You'll never get a fan to even entertain the idea.

People really believe the actions of the people they idolize somehow reflects on them as a person. It doesnt. Shoot it cant, because in reality you dont know these people.

Him being a fake thug doesnt take away from his music or anything that he gave to the world. Most people see as, "Pac was a genius, but he was on one with that Thug Life ****. That was all Shug." Thats it.

People act like its a diss or something.

That whole gangsta image was more than him just wanting to be a thug.

He had a message to spread and to reach the ones he wanted to unite and militarize, he had to present himself as relatable to them.

He was talented and a special person but I don't listen to his music that much. Psychologically real fans stay in that emotional mentality. Like I said. As a person he was the man.

Just find it funny how there are cold hard facts about members of his family (him included) being targeted by government entities and people claiming him to be fake.

LIke really?

I don't think anyone is questioning the political side of Pac (even though, re-read your sentence, his FAMILY, although I believe Pac was about it too, but people keep bringing up his FAMILY to solidify HIM). We know he's solid on that end.

People just thought the thug **** was wack. He should have stayed in his lane. Although he was likely marked because of how powerful and influential he was + his family history, the fake thug **** is what tangibly brought him to an end. Should have sat down somewhere and just been cool.

It's funny because I'd like to hear the people defending him's opinion on whether or not Ross, Wayne, Kanye, Plies, Drake, Chris Brown etc. are "fake"

If Tupac came out today acting the way he was, he would be getting roasted on Twitter for those videos of him in ballet school.

I always felt that after the Black Panthers disbanded, Hip-Hop became the next logical political movement to take their place. Obviously you had pockets of political hip-hop in the mid-late 80s... and Pac became the most charismatic and recognizable of the bunch. He had to mold his sound/image to keep up with the changing times and influence people... I don't necessarily call that fake... more like evolving yourself to make yourself heard.

True. But was he not popular enough to do that prior to meeting Suge?

It's not even the music that people are referring to when people say he was on the Thug ****, it's all the extracurricular **** outside of the music he started getting into once he linked up with Suge.

So again, what part of that is fake?

Y'all keep mentioning "Thug Life" like that's all he was.

I think he felt like he had to show loyalty to Suge for getting him outta prison. And it was dudes tryna kill him, that's probably another reason why he signed to Deathrow. For protection. And Pac was getting into **** before he was running with Suge.
