Pepe was right though...

With that jab and range, there was no reason why Max couldn't win.

Looks like Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 is going to happen.

"Dancing with the Stars" isn't enough reality TV this fall for pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In addition to participating in the hit ABC reality show, Mayweather will also take center stage in "Mayweather/Hatton 24/7," a four-part HBO series that will follow Mayweather and England's Ricky Hatton as they prepare for their much-anticipated Dec. 8 (HBO PPV) welterweight championship fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In April and May, HBO cameras tracked Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya during the buildup to their fight, which shattered virtually every boxing box office record.

Mayweather was the clear star of the hit show, which, according to HBO, averaged 4.7 million viewers for each episode during the four-week run.

Bringing the series back for Mayweather's next fight comes as little surprise, and HBO made the announcement Wednesday with Mayweather (38-0, 24 KOs) and Hatton (43-0, 31 KOs) in New York meeting the media in the midst of a five-city, two-country press tour to promote the pay-per-view.

All 16,000-plus tickets to the fight at MGM Grand sold out in less than 30 minutes on Monday, generating a live gate of more than $10 million. Organizers will add thousands of closed circuit seats throughout Las Vegas, which will accommodate thousands of Hatton's British fans unable to get tickets to the arena.

The first 30-minute episode of "Mayweather/Hatton 24/7" will debut Nov. 18 (10 p.m. ET/PT). The second and third episodes will air in the same Sunday night time slot with the finale due to air Thursday, Dec. 6, two days before the bout.

The series is expected to have a similar feel to last spring's, meaning plenty of behind-the-scenes access to the fighters during training camp along with in-depth interviews with the fighters and members of their teams.

"In addition to this being the most anticipated welterweight title fight since Oscar De La Hoya squared off with Felix Trinidad in 1999, these are two of the sport's most engaging and colorful personalities," HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg said in announcing the series. "We were thrilled with the launch of the '24/7' franchise last spring and believe we have found the ideal sequel.

"The contrasts between the cities of Las Vegas [Mayweather's base] and Manchester [Hatton's home] will be a terrific jumping off point for the series. We truly appreciate the commitment and cooperation of the fighters and their teams with this ambitious project."

This is gonna do numbers, but not Oscar-Floyd Numbers. I think it'll the 2nd highest selling card of the year. I say 700K buys.

Oh yeah, from ESPN.com

This is getting rediculous.

Oh yeah, just to piss me off even more...

Montreal light heavyweight boxer Adrian Diaconu will have to wait for his first shot at a world title after sustaining a hand injury.

Diaconu (24-0, 15 knockouts) had been scheduled to take on champion Chad Dawson in a battle of unbeatens Sept. 29 in Sacramento, Calif., but an MRI last week revealed bone contusions in his right hand.

Diaconu, 29, will rest his hand for a few weeks before being re-evaluated. Colombia's Epifanio Mendoza will now face Dawson.

Diaconu, who represented Romania at the 2000 Olympics, moved into contention when he destroyed former world title challenger Rico Hoye in three rounds in a bout in Montreal in May.

He was seeking to become the third Canadian fighter to currently hold a world boxing title.

Montreal's Joachim Alcine is the latest to achieve the feat, beating Travis Simms by a decision in a junior middleweight bout in July.

Steve Molitor, meanwhile, became the first Ontario-born fighter to successfully defend his title within the province that same month.

Molitor will return to Casino Rama near Orillia, Ont., on Oct. 27 when he fights Thailand's Fashung 3K Battery in a junior featherweight title defence.

Lucian Bute will have an opportunity to join Alcine and Molitor. Bute will fight Alejandro Berrio Oct. 19 at Bell Centre in his native Montreal for a super middleweight title bout.

The cancellation of the attractive Diaconu-Dawson matchup is the fourth disappointment in September for boxing fans.

Fernando Vargas was diagnosed with anemia, delaying a grudge match with Ricardo Mayorga, Vitali Klitschko's comeback fight was cancelled when he developed a back injury, and Juan Manuel Marquez's hand injury forced a postponement of his defence against Rocky Juarez.

The Vargas and Marquez bouts have been rescheduled for November.

Undefeated middleweights Jerman Taylor, the champion, and contender Kelly Pavlik will tangle on Sept. 29 in the next major boxing battle.

Mayweather/Hatton isn't gonna draw the latino crowds for a huge ppv so it wont surpass the Oscar/Mayweather ppv sales. Hatton's fanbase is only people from England and Mayweather doesn't have a huge fanbase to draw good PPV numbers.

This 24/7 thing by HBO is really good, but they should do the 24/7 for Miguel Cotto vs Shane Mosley that fight will sell a lot of PPV sales and will surpass the Mayweather/Hatton fight.

Yall lookin at this from the boxing fans standpoint. Just think of all the non fans who can be sucked in by some PBF personality on prolly the biggest hit show in America. thats instant promotion.

Mike, I heard interviews with Leila Ali and Jerry Rice and they said more people know them from dancin with the stars then their respective sports. Sports heards like u & me wouldnt believe that but to the avg non sports viewer thats their introduction to people who are stars elewhere. Dancing with the Stars can really boost Floyds Q rating if he is anywhere near as personable on that show as he is on 24/7.
Why u think he's doin dancin with the stars in the 1st place

Floyd Mayweather can't sell PPV's and his PPV buy history proves that. Oscar De La Hoya sold that PPV, his PPV buy history proves taht, and Floyd was just along for the ride. Floyd isnt as big of an attraction as he thinks he is and when there are more Hatton fans in Vegas on December 8th that will just further prove that point.

thats the thing though, because so many people hate him and want him to lose, he is a pretty big attraction. People watch because they want to see him lose. Mayweather is probably the best selling PPV fighter not named De La Hoya right now. No other boxer is doing 325K buys with an opponent as bad as Baldomir. Hell, most boxers aren't doing 325K with other elite fighers. As much as an @#%$ as he is, people actually watch Floyd's fights.

Pretty Boy vs. Hatton isn't going to draw number as big as Oscar vs. Pretty Boy but it will gross a decent amount of money.

I'm calling this upset right now Hatton might actully give Mayweather a fight for the first time since Castillo... Hatton's aggressive fighting style might give PB some problems. Speed and Quickness is going to be the challenge for Hatton.

he made 325,000 buys off his fight with Baldomir.

That's pretty impressive especially concerning this was before the 24/7 show and the fight with DLH that made A LOT more people familiar with him. I didn't know that.

The new 24/7 show will definitely help draw numbers...hell, I might even buy the fight after watching it. The fact that a white fighter is involved may also bring up the numbers.

I don't think it will reach Mayweather-DLH numbers since DLH is a bigger draw then both fighters, but it should be pretty damn high.

Anyone know if this on PPV in England or how that works and if in turn it will have any effect on the PPV numbers?

^^^The buys from england will NOT count, towards the final numbers, as the numbers that get released are the domestic buys.

And i've made it very clear how i feel the fight will go down. Mayweather TKO 11, turning ricky's face into the american flag in the process.

I don't think the fight is going to be a complete domination on the part of Mayweather. I think Hatton will have his moments and maybe win a few rounds with his constant pressure and aggression but ultimately I think Mayweather is going to be pop-shotting him all night, slowly turning his face into a mess...like amohoop said. So I think a late KO is definitely a possibility.

PBF vs Hatton should have a large buy rate.

I think, like DLH, Hatton has a niche fan base
Equipo BOXEO
Let's Go White Sox!

It'll be large, but not THAT large. Rickey does have a hue fan base, problem is that the fan base is across the pond. I still think he has enough of a name to bring in a decent amount of buys, and an engaging enough personality to get new fans from the 24/7 show. Thats where i think this 24/7 may actually be better for the sport than the one with DLH. DLH was boring. He already had his army of fans, and didn't create any new ones with that show. All 24/7 did was get people to hate Floyd so they had someone to root against. This time, i think people will watch 24/7 and come away wanting to root for Hatton more than just against Mayweather. If that is the scenario, it may make a Hatton a star even in defeat if he puts up a good fight, because all of a sudden he has a ton of fans who want to see him win, and may tune in for his future fights.
