Everyone outside those of wealth qualify for some sort of Financial Aid, be it loans or grants BUT the government doesn't care.^^ EXACTLY. summed it up perfectly. Don't tell me the government doesn't care about black people when they've loaned MILLIONS of dollars to us to attend college. If you don't qualify for Financial Aid, join the military & they'll pay for your school while you're in OR after you get out. Tired of dudes making excuses for this crap in 2012

Not my problem. You can type up the most grammatically correct responses you want. At the end of the day, you are still in fact that nebro in the coupe, Future.True.
I guess at the end of the day people are more concerned about how others view them instead of trying to actually be responsible for enacting the changes in the first place.
The only people who I will allow to embarrass me will be people I'm close friends with, people i'm dating, or family.
Otherwise, try as you may but I refuse to acknowledge any association to someone who I bear no relation to on the grounds that you want to pin that on me.
White people are going to judge me regardless so why make it easier for them by accepting that claim?
I. Simply. Refuse.
You're black. In this country you're automatically judged, viewed, and treated by the way they view the majority of black men.
I'm Latino and I don't like being thrown into the "immigrant", "wife beater", "drunk" mix but when people ask what I am and I say, "mexican", the next statement is, "do you drink?". When I tell them where I live, "thats the ghetto". Mind you I stay in a historic district with white folks but to them, it's the "ghetto".
All you can do is laugh it off. You're gonna change maybe a few peoples minds about you but looking at the bigger picture, you driving a coupe, will be met with 1 of 3 remarks. 1. Are you an athlete? 2. Are you a rapper? or 3. Must be a drug dealer.
Sad, but true.

Corny how that's the first go to in any type of argument like this when somebody has nothing substantive to rebut with, they just call the other person an Uncle Tom, or house *****, or self hating for having an opinion different from theirs. Predictable. Simple minded.Surprised this thread went 3 pages before NT's #1 uncle tom stepped up to the mic![]()

Surprised this thread went 3 pages before NT's #1 uncle tom stepped up to the mic![]()

What significance does this have? Does this suppose to make your more respectable?Surprised this thread went 3 pages before NT's #1 uncle tom stepped up to the mic![]()
Right only on NT can someone who was literally kickin it with Jeezy & Diddy last night wake up the next day and get called an Uncle Tom
Yousa dumb ***** with no solutions probably havent even left ya mom's house yet. So ima let u cook on the sidelines.
I dont know why I let u internet get me amped dawg![]()
So...is it that we glorify "negative" images?
So many layers of problems/policies contribute to something like this developing.....truth be told there is no one "solution" you can only hope that younger generations don't fall into the same behaviors that are all around them in their environment, which is a majority of what they're exposed to. Maybe someone with a more positive message can reach the thousands of kids and the youth there and show them that there are other paths to prosperity and success and they don't have to be consumed by that lifestyle.
. I guarantee you a good number of these guys who go down this path would be tremendously successful in other things if they applied themselves and their energy on that instead of gangbanging, they just need the opportunity....I hope this stuff dies down over the next decade there is literally no purpose for that type of violence at allWhat significance does this have? Does this suppose to make your more respectable?

Should open with that instead of dropping Jeezy and Diddy names. What significance does this have? Does this suppose to make your more respectable?
Ill break it down for you slow
Bruh says Im a Uncle Tom. Yet people in the real world know me and respect me in the black community & the urban music community .
The uneducated lil homie up there thinks Im just some random ***** with an opinion. A Uncle Tom he says
Im just letting the lil dude know I've done more for black folks in 3 years than he'll probably do in his life.
I could go on about how I made a couple black musicians millionaires. I could tell you Im a SIFE rep for a couple of HBCUs. I could tell you I volunteer my time at AG Gaston Boys & Girls Club and JCCEO.
So the Uncle Tom reference even from a random internet ***** is hilarious to me. Its just something I've never heard from a real person
I apologize for the rant and random name drops but you can only do so much from a smartphone

As far as I am concerned, the parents need to be educated as well. You made some excellent points, but education isn't the only answer. Parenting is almost as big of a factor in this as education, you can take a child from the hood and try to give him an education or vocational skills but the mentality that the child absorbs daily will more than likely dictate how that child acts. We need accountable parents teaching their children that education is how you're going to better your situation. I don't know how it will be done, but it starts at home period.
I'm actually back and forth about whether or not I want to become an educator in order to help our young men. From the experiences I've had working with them is an exasperating job but if we don't help our own then who will? I'm not trying to sit up in a nice neighborhood festering in smugness acting like I am not my people and that I don't owe them anything because "im different". I refuse.
Yea stop blaming the government
Anybody ever been to rural America? The majority of America
There poor
There uneducated
They got guns a lot of guns
But they aint killing each other
Once black folks admit there's a problem and stop looking for a white man to blame the quicker **** can get fixed
